UPDATE: Shaheen steps down!

Yesterday, I wrote that the Clinton campaign needed to disassociate from Billy Shaheen. They haven't, but Shaheen did, today, apologize. As Ben Smith says:

Shaheen's comments were obviously unplanned. It didn't take a genius to predict the consequences, and the campaign that loses another news cycle is clearly Hillary's.

I'm not certain the apology was enough, but I'm also still waiting for the Obama campaign to rebuke Donnie McClurkin- who certainly won't be apologizing.
