Reading Turkana's post on Afghanistan makes me so incredibly sad. I had the time to read the wonderful book, The Kite Runner, over the Christmas holidays and it made the country and the people so real. Imagine what it must be like live in a country that has had almost 40 years of violence, war and terror. And when you hear Sarah Chayes' talk about the real people who deserve so much more than they've received, it shows just how much the Bush administration has betrayed the very people they had proclaimed to "rescue." What do we do to make up for the crass neglect that condemned the Afghani people to the hellhole our government has allowed to fester?
So, what's on your mind?
