McCain's Kind of Judges

John McCain today did everything he could to assure the far right that he would appoint more wackos to the federal courts. He named dozens of true believers to his judiciary advisory committee, and also slammed Obama as an elitist who was against appointing safe whitebread judges of "right" mind like John Roberts and Samuel Alito. Funny how McCain never mentioned any full-throated support for the only African American currently on the court or Antonin Scalia.

Now that McCain has told the right wing he will appoint dozens more just like Roberts and Alito, both of whom just said Indiana's voter identification law was not a harm to individual voting rights, perhaps McCain can now explain to the clergy and regular folks why he supports judges who willingly disenfranchise voters?

See, to the wingers and closet racists like Roberts and Alito, voter ID laws are fine and dandy to keep brown people from the polls. Let's see them now explain why it is OK to keep nuns and recently-married folks from voting as well. After all, we need to be worried about voting fraud from nuns and housewives, right?
