LA Times Poll: Obama By 12

by Steve Soto

Following on the heels of a Newsweek poll late last week which showed Obama taking advantage of a unified party to sprint out to a 15-point lead (51%-36%) over McCain nationally, tonight the latest Bloomberg/LA Times poll has Obama out ahead of McCain by 12 points, 49%-37%, similar to the results of the earlier poll. The poll also finds that Democrats have a huge 17-point advantage in party self-identification, 39%-22%, similar to the 14-point Democratic advantage in a poll late last week by ABC News/Washington Post. This clearly makes the USAT/Gallup poll I referenced earlier today an outlier and suspect.

By the way, Bush's job approval rating in the Bloomberg/LA Times poll is . . . . . 23%.
