Fiorina Starts Lying Immediately
by Steve Soto
We hear this morning that Phil Gramm will no longer be a formal advisor or mouthpiece for the McCain campaign. In an example of going from bad to worse, former HP CEO Carly Fiorina will step in and handle more of those duties. And she started out yesterday on "Meet the Press" by lying right out of the box:
"I think John McCain has been real clear that Phil Gramm wasn't speaking for him, and in fact John McCain has said now for many months that he believes the economy is in a recession . .."
Now if Russert were still there instead of the geriatric Brokaw, he would have tagged Fiorina on that one. Because it was just last Tuesday, a day before the Gramm comments to the Washington Times, that McCain couldn't bring himself to say that he believed the economy was in a recession.
