Amazing how good Bush is for the economy. Today as he assured the American public that things look good, and he's optimistic about the economy, the NYTimes has the following headline and led on its story:

Fed Chief Bleak on Economic Outlook

A sense of economic gloom gripped Washington on Tuesday as President Bush urged Americans not to lose faith....

The malaise is palpable.
