Vets for Propaganda

I guess no one should be surprised that pro-war conservatives, who rant all the time about the alleged liberal bias in the press, are in fact using the Pentagon to support a right wing propaganda operation intended to embed pro-war veterans masquerading as journalists to report back to us that the war is going well, all in an attempt to help the McCain campaign. And it’s largely being done on the taxpayer’s dime, without McCain’s campaign having to pay for it either.

I’m used to seeing pro-war real journalists, like the Times’ Michael Gordon and John Burns sell us this war through their coverage, but at least their editors still believe these are credible reports from credible journalists rather than political propaganda. But the right wing has used this tactic of bashing the media for an alleged liberal bias for decades to hide their own use of that same media to disseminate political propaganda masquerading as objective journalism.
