Iraqis Reject Bush's "Time Horizons" - Must Be Out By 2011

by Steve Soto

On a day when members of Hamid Karzai’s government demanded that NATO and US forces be subjected to a Status of Forces Agreement and no longer be allowed to conduct unlimited air operations in Afghanistan, Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said once again that all US forces would be gone from Iraqi soil by 2011, regardless of what the Bush Administration wants. And according to the AP, the Iraqi government now says this applies to all troops, not just combat troops, and that they explicitly reject talk of “time horizons” and instead demand full withdrawal by a specific date of all American forces from the country.

Now we eagerly await John McCain telling us that al-Maliki, Karzai, and Barack Obama are simpletons and weak on terror.
