Teddy Will Speak Tonight

by Steve Soto

Well, Michelle Obama will be guaranteed the largest possible lead-in tonight to her first-night capstone speech: Ted Kennedy will be in the house and as of late today, giving a speech that may very well rival the rest of the week's agenda. And he'll be doing it with some personal risk involved.

If he can pull it off, it would be one of his greater accomplishments over a standout political career if he could get the party united and away from any more talk by the media and PUMAs about lingering Clinton/Obama divisiveness, or why Bill Clinton is unhappy that he has been relegated to National Security night instead of making the economic argument against the GOP. The media and its right-wing bottom feeders will do whatever it can to fan the flames of intraparty discord over the next four days, so it could be left for Kennedy to remind all of us what really is important in November, and why.
