Sarah Palin?

by Turkana

UPDATE: In the link below, Big Tent Democrat has NBC reporting Palin is the choice. ABC News and CNN now confirm.

UPDATE 2: In the comments, heretic and Lahdee point out that by picking Palin, McCain undermines any attacks on Obama's alleged inexperience. McCain is 72 years old, and his selection as the person to be a heartbeat away from the presidency is a second year governor from a small state?

UPDATE 3: Well, the Hillary hardcore should now be satisfied. The jump to McCain should now be easy. After all, they only supported Hillary because she is a woman, and Palin is a woman, and since all women are alike, they can therefore easily transition to Palin. At least that must be part of McCain's "thinking." And isn't it nice to know he so respects their political decision-making?

Rumors are flying that McCain will pick Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate. That certainly would suck up a bunch of media oxygen, and quickly change the subject from a very successful Democratic Convention. Palin is known as a conservative who fights corruption. She has, however, tread softly on the corruption of her own state's long time senator, Ted Stevens. She's also being investigated over her firing of Alaska's Public Safety Commissioner. The question is whether she's really a corruption fighter, or is actually party to Alaska's odious tradition of Republican corruption.
