Lynch Mobs
by Steve Soto
This is Exhibit A of the Stepford mentality, all ginned up by a desperate Rove/Schmidt campaign to hold onto power any way possible, even if it means inciting violence against a presidential candidate.
Some conservative columnists recognize that McCain/Palin is taking the GOP over the cliff of extremism, so why can't the evening news and other parts of the mainstream media confront this also?
Eight years into Rovian base-energizing politics, the GOP has morphed into an extremist outfit that claims anywhere from 22%-30% of the electorate no matter what their candidate does. The electorate is poisoned as a result, but what also happens (by design) is that the incoming Democratic administration immediately faces an angry mob of millions, stoked on by their allegedly Christian pastors and GOP consultants in an all-too-familiar victimization scam.
And yet there are many in the GOP punditocracy who think Sarah Palin is their future.
