California Prop 8 Now Too Close to Call

by paradox

In an extremely disheartening development the Mormon Church has led the charge to ban gay marriage in California, a Survey USA poll conducted October 17 showing the measure now passing 48% to 45%, a statistical tie.

At one time the Proposition of hatred, intolerance and bigotry showed little chance of passing, but fanatical spending and work by proponents has forever lowered my respect and opinion of the Mormon Church. I’ve even seen Mormons in traffic intersections with those body signs three weeks before the election.

The California Supreme Court legally sanctioned gay marriage, which harms no one. But there is a great deal of harm in denying Americans their rights that everyone else gets, and I really don’t want to wake up November 6 knowing that hatred and bigotry still rule the day in California.

I’m donating $100 right now for No on 8. There’s lots citizens can do besides donating, please help us defeat hatred and bigotry in California.
