Today is Charles Darwin's 200th birthday. He was an exceptional man whose curiosity and intense pleasure at seeing the world as it was, not as he thought it should be or he wanted it to be, opened the world for the rest of us. Would we were all so open to really seeing and experiencing the world without our own blinders and prejudices. One book I really enjoyed about this remarkable man was Pilgrim on the Great Bird Continent: The Importance of Everything and Other Lessons from Darwin's Lost Notebooks. It is a great read about a great man.

Happy Birthday Charles.
