Well, hurrah for the passage of the stimulus bill. Yet, it amazes me that people are kvetching about the funding for weatherization. This is one of the areas I think makes extremely good sense for spending as it provides many, many new jobs for people needing jobs and it goes a long ways in making our housing and building stock more energy efficient. As I've noted before, energy efficiency pays for itself extremely well because it keeps us from wasting energy: we don't have to build as many new power plants, people don't have to spend so much money on wasted energy costs, and once it's fixed it continues to pay off for decades and decades. What's not to like?
