Pink-slips were sent to more than 1000 probationary and tenured teachers in California that they could lose their jobs at the end of the school year. And the administration warned that it could get worse.
And what's even more surreal, the final pink slips will get sent out four days before the special election that might affect next year's budget. If the special elections for supporting the budget deal don't get passed, the state will have to pass out many more pink slips. That's just weird that they have to set a layoff target a scant four days before the state knows that is enough.
But I guess we must be grateful in California that we don't have Hoover-ete Governors actively working to make things worse.
