explaining why it's okay for Psychologists to partake in torture which reopens the bitterly fought internal argument for the American Psychological Association (APA) where some psychologists insist it is important to have psychologists present at interrogations where other health provider organizations (AMA) condemn the participation of their members in activities meant to harm, not heal. As Jeff Kerr (Valtin) says, the record shows that although psychologists who did attend the harsh interrogations at Gitmo, their stated goal was to prevent abuse, nevertheless, even with the psychologists there the abuse was severe. One wonders whether Stalin had as many willing outlets for justifying his torture regime.
