Unplanned Obsolescence

by Turkana

As the Republican Party wanes into a rump remnant, isolated in the deep south and the Mormon west, we will increasingly see this. And not care.

From The Hill:

A freshman House Democrat from Alabama said Tuesday he would not vote for Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) as Speaker again because of her “divisive and polarizing” image.

“I would not vote for her,” Rep. Parker Griffith (D-Ala.) told a constituent at a town hall meeting when asked if he'd support Pelosi. “Someone that divisive and that polarizing cannot bring us together.”

Whether held by a non-Democrat or an actual Republican, that's one House seat that simply doesn't matter. Goodbye. Good riddance.

Griffith told constituents that only Blue Dog Democrats could prevent the healthcare bill from moving forward in the House...

It's nice to have a purpose in life. I suppose even having such a destructive purpose is better than having none. Provided that you have no impact on anyone. Which pretty much sums the man up.

Goodbye. Good riddance.
