Paul Krugman makes a strong argument that Congress should still pass health care reform. And I agree.
Whenever someone says that we have to cut the deficit first (meaning cutting Medicare and Social Security), I wonder what they are smoking. If we don't get the spending on health care fixed, everyone, not just government, will be bankrupt. Medicare, companies that provide health coverage and anyone who is trying to get coverage privately will be bankrupt if we don't solve this problem. Cutting Medicare will make the situation for companies and individuals much worse for everyone.
And that's called being fiscally responsible?
