Run And Hide

by Deacon Blues

CSU Stanislaus was so proud to land Sarah Palin and her six-figure speaking fee for a foundation fundraiser that they tried to shred copies of the contract. If the foundation and other school boosters are proud of paying Governor Half-Term a huge fee at a time when the school’s students and faculty are experiencing hardships as a result of state budget cuts, then why lie? I'm sure someone at the university can explain why a taxpayer-funded college should host and pay an avowed partisan to give a stump speech full of falsehoods and rhetoric against the government.

And for the record, the only people who would be at work on a state furlough day to discard these contract documents last Friday would be senior university officials and perhaps foundation staff, who might be exempt from the furloughs.
