There's an election coming, so the Mighty Wurlitzer is already doing its job.

The Washington Post, this afternoon:

One federal law enforcement official cautioned that, while investigators are examining unspecified international communications that may be connected to the attack, "that doesn't get you to an international plot, a multi-organizational plot."

"We're just not there," the official said.

Fox News, the same afternoon:

The investigation into the Times Square car bomb has started to reveal information that suggests the failed attack was the work of an international plot, a senior administration official told Fox News.

And it'll be all Obama's fault.
