There are many ways a politician can earn my scorn. At the top of that list are deceit and poor judgment. Anthony Weiner scored a bulls-eye today. He’s been one of the better advocates for progressive values over the last several years. Yet all of that means nothing to me after today. And please, it isn’t Andrew Breitbart’s fault Weiner is a piece of shit. Breitbart may be a conservative prick, but he wasn’t wrong about this.
On another matter, let the record show that on this date, I predicted it was entirely possible that the GOP would beat Barack Obama by running against his poor judgment. Again, don’t blame the media if the GOP wins next year by making voters forget who got us into this mess in the first place. Blame will rest squarely on the shoulders of Barack Obama for caring about Wall Street over Main Street, for failing to pay enough attention to jobs and mortgages, and for listening to Larry Summers and Tim Geithner. If Obama didn't see that his top priority was to fix the economy and shine a bright light on those who created then opposed bold measures to fix the mess, then he's just as dumb as Weiner.
