Cain: Homosexuality is a Sin
by Steve
The pizza king who is the current GOP front runner, who thinks the unemployed are to blame for their predicament and not Wall Street, also thinks homosexuality is a sin and a choice.
Being gay is wrong and a personal choice, Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain says in a new interview.
The ex-pizza business magnate, who has been neck and neck with Mitt Romney in recent polls, opened up about his personal beliefs to CNN's Piers Morgan on Wednesday night.
"I think it's a sin because of my biblical beliefs," said Cain in a testy exchange. "And although people don't agree with me, I happen to think that it is a choice."
But an economic policy that enriches the wealthy at the expense of everyone else isn't a sin, and comports to those same biblical beliefs?
Morgan immediately questioned his remarks.
"You genuinely believe that millions of Americans wake up in their late teens normally and go, 'You know what? I quite fancy being a homosexual.' You don't believe that, do you?" the incredulous host asked, prompting Cain to reply there was no evidence to prove otherwise.
Nothing surprising in such a response, coming from a man who doesn't acknowledge empirical evidence that his 9-9-9 plan favors the wealthy.
"That being said I respect their right to make that choice. You don't see me bashing them," said Cain. "I don't have to agree with it."
No, you and the rest of the GOP base will just discriminate against them and treat them as second-class citizens and objects of scorn.
The best thing the media can do is to pin down each of the top GOP candidates on the same topic to see the fallout.
