Cleaning Up in Energy
by Mary
Last Friday, NPR's Science Friday interviewed Amory Lovins, the chief scientist and one of the founders of Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI). His latest book, Reinventing Fire: Bold Business Solutions for the New Energy Era will be available on Oct 27.

One of the points Lovins made was that he believes that even without action in the political sphere, renewable energy has such a compelling business story that the American economy will be off fossil fuel by 2050. And he said that if the subsidies for fossil fuels and nuclear energy were removed today, renewable energy is already cheaper than their competition right now.
As always, the discussion with Amory was very interesting and the program is well-worth taking the time to listen to fully. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the book.
