GOP Enthusiasm Gap Gone

In one of the first major swing state polls that includes the immediate aftermath of the Romney fundraiser tape, Fox News reports that in their poll of Florida, Ohio, and Virginia, Obama now hits 49% in all three, with Romney now down to 42-44%. Real Clear Politics reports that Obama’s average poll margins are now increasing in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, and only need to get Florida or any combination that yields another 23 electoral votes, whereas Romney needs more than three times that amount. And with Gallup now reporting that swing-state Democrats have overtaken Republicans in the level of enthusiasm they have about voting this November (in a poll that doesn’t yet include the fundraising tape aftermath), it would appear that the feared GOP turnout advantage in critical states is gone.
