Oh, Sununu won't retract this---this is his tough, independent "mod-servative" voice. Gag me.
Lord knows what the views of NH Repubs are these days--all we know is that NH currently has two conservative extremists in the senate, who will gum up and obstruct any hope of progress in the country as long as they sit there.
Posted by euzoius at March 14, 2007 03:02 PMWatch for Joementum to rush to FOX Noise to defend Gonzales and his puppet master, George W. Bush.
Posted by Christopher at March 14, 2007 03:16 PMIt may be sinking in with these folks that Abu's fingerprints will be on their campaigns as well. Yesterday's emails gave a stark trail of GOP conduits and quid pro quo; the track backs are astounding. Sununu may just be the leader of the stampeding herd here.
Posted by mainsailset at March 14, 2007 03:20 PMFire his boss first. Put his "going to die and minute" veep in prision along with "fat and loving it oinkarl. THen we can talk.
Posted by sara swati at March 14, 2007 04:32 PMGee just wondering if Sununu's strong stance against Abu had anything to do with that repuke phone jamming case that occured at the behest of the RNC in Washington during that tough election season he was a part of (versus the dem Shaheen). You know that scandal took forever and a lifetime for the repuke appointed USA in NH to investigate....just fuel for thought here. I dunno, maybe Sununu is hoping if Abu goes away, so does talk about this scandal? And it looks like Abu doesn't have many friends left outside of Junyah....although didn't junya say he had complete faith and confidence in Rummy just days before he bit the dust?
Posted by emal at March 14, 2007 05:15 PMOh, fire Abu. My, that is truly bold. These people really have balls.
Posted by Sharkbabe at March 14, 2007 06:20 PMPayback time?
From the NYT files:
Mr. Bush is no stranger to the hatchet; he played a pivotal role in the forced resignation of his father's chief of staff John H. Sununu late in his father's term.
Be careful what you wish for. Bush will nominate someone like John Yoo as his replacement.
Posted by Nobody at March 14, 2007 07:27 PMDigby has described the Repulicans as a tribe and I think that's accurate. Sununu will not back off and others will join him because the tribal structure is breaking down.
BTW like all popups those sunlight popups are really irritating.
Posted by Ron In Portland at March 14, 2007 07:28 PMOr is this not the same guy? I need help.
Posted by Don Bacon at March 14, 2007 07:31 PMIt doesn't matter if Yoo is nominated for AG. The Senate is no loger a rubber stamp. In fat, it would be good to expose the "anything goes" view of presidential power that Yoo holds. This is a post Katrina world, Americans have learned, almost against their will, to think again without fear.
Sununu's father got the news that he had been fired from his job as WH Chief of Staff under Bush I from Junta Boy.
Revenge is a dish best served cold.
Posted by Davis X. Machina at March 14, 2007 08:22 PMIf they put up a Yoo or an Addington for the AG job, the hearings would be murder. They would definitely look instead for a blue-chipper without many recorded views, a la John Roberts.
Posted by dj moonbat at March 14, 2007 08:49 PMIt's too bad these other Republican Senators can't formulate an independent thought. They all line up behind this corrupt White House like lap dogs.
