City Police Spied Broadly Before G.O.P. Convention.
Remember when Bush was spying illegally on the Quaker group of women as possible threats to the security of the United States. Well, it's much worse than I thought.
"By searching the Internet, investigators identified groups that were making plans for demonstrations. Files were created on their political causes of the people involved and any plans for civil disobedience or disruptive tactics."
This reminds me of the VietNam days, when protestors were watched for anti-war activities, illegally. Tricky Dick would be so proud of Bush.

This morning's WaPo says the FBI is "analyzing" 1,000 Americans PER DAY for terrorist connections.
So, that means 30,000 Americans a month or 360,000 Americans a year, are being victimized by Bush's USA Patriot Act -- the act 98% of the Congress didn't bother to read before approving it.
Funny, but I thought the attacks of 9/11 were carried out by Saudis? Sounds to me like the Bush junta is putting together a highly detailed enemies list of anyone who opposes him.

Bingo
Yeah, I read the same thing about 1,000 a day being "analyzed" as possible terrorists. The only terrorists I am afraid of in this Country is the Republican Party.
The hysterical part of the WaPo piece is where it says the braindead F.B.I. keeps targeting Rep. Ted Steven's wife, Catherine Stevens, and confuses her for Cat Stevens, who is on their "no-fly" list.
This country is so screwed.

"Their message"? What is it?
The Democratic big tent with its corporate-powered New Democrats, its socially-conservative Blue Dogs, its neocon New Progressives and its "idiot liberal" (in the words of David Obey) Progressives doesn't have a consistent message that differs from the Republican message, does it? Perhaps on the environment, and perhaps they can develop a message, but more and more political messages are a product of spin doctors and media advisors and are divorced from the real needs of people.
Posted by Don Bacon at March 25, 2007 02:29 PMYeah, Cat Stevens. Now there's a real threat.
