I'm not sure the day will come when the GOP Senate will allow a Bush veto to be overridden. If that does happen to some bill, it will, of course, signal the end of the Bush Regime for all intents. Rats will begin jumping in droves. Even though I still doubt it will happen, it seems to me that recent comments by Hagel and others indicate that there are Republicans who finally get "it" and don't like "it". Naturally, only when faced with losing their job will they revolt in numbers. We'll start seeing that in about 9 months if not sooner.
Posted by T2 at March 27, 2007 01:02 PMOne might give Mueller some credit if he first arrested at least a few of the FBI agents who made false oaths on felony charges for making false official statements and oaths---or perhaps it might lead to the arrest of some of his friends---oh well, it won't happen, FBI agents regularly testify as instructed so what is the big deal. Well, I guess we can't give him any credit at all can we?
It sure is time for some of those federal law enforcement officials who have taken oaths to enforce the law to start cleaning up the cesspool that is DOJ and the FBI!!
Too bad, it will never happen will it?
Posted by Nobody at March 27, 2007 01:13 PMlooks like he is heading for jail then. he wouldn't try to back up the criminals unless he was one of them. isn't this getting fun?
SPOT A CRIMINAL;
1. do they agree with the preznit?
2. are they under investigation?
3. Do they beg not to change the laws they say are being misused to a degree that is criminal?
4. have they used it for a purpose not specified?
5. Has this witness the taint of potential obstruction of justice clouding his statements?
6. has witness carried out orders known to be illegal no matter who gave them?
and the list goes on. we have had some strange leaders at the FBI, but to suggest this at this point in time is admitting to a criminal conspiracy, and he asks the Senators to trust him?
someone please get his doctor in to testify about his sanity?
The Patriot Act will never be "fixed", and Repubs will never vote to amend it.
The GOP will never have enough of "Bushism" because, quite frankly, Bushism is simply modern day "conservatism", which today's Repubs revere and vomit out every time they open their failed, corrupt mouths.
Bush is merely the repulsive symptom of the so-far undiagnosed disease, convenient to denounce, but not anywhere near the real problem this country faces, which is "conservative" ideology shitting up every corner, institution and television set in this country.
Posted by euzoius at March 27, 2007 04:01 PMAlthough I agree that the FBI has been extremely careless with the NSL's, when you take a reading of the Patriot Act, it's a wonder that anyone could comprehend the opaque language in the law. Congress is to blame, most of all, for writing a poor law that is incomprehensible, even to highly educated people. Mueller and his agnets are rather hampered in the face of this dreadfulyl-written law.
