this is the "bomb a day" Iraq Laura Bush describes? I watched some cable news today - they had some US General on saying how things seem to be calming down somewhat thanks to the surge - all the while showing footage of Iraqis carring wounded out of a terribly bombed-out street. A picture is worth a thousand lies.
Posted by T2 at March 29, 2007 12:28 PMHeck, Baghdad is starting to look almost as dangerous as South Sacramento. And I noticed McCain has never volunteered to walk through a South Sac neighborhood. Too much sectarian violence between gangs. It is like civil war down there!
Posted by muckdog at March 29, 2007 04:36 PMMuck, only you and I know how true that is!
Posted by Steve Soto at March 29, 2007 04:43 PMYeah, unfortunately. It is very sad, eh?
Posted by muckdog at March 29, 2007 06:22 PMHey Muck, have you ever figured out why Sac PD has never approved a plan for district police stations to bring the cops closer to the action, so to speak? I asked the PD and Steve Cohn this several years ago and never got an answer.
Posted by Steve Soto at March 29, 2007 08:30 PMNo, haven't checked into that. But I think they're overwhelmed.
Posted by muckdog at March 29, 2007 10:09 PMAnd grossly understaffed.
Posted by Steve Soto at March 29, 2007 10:28 PMA Sacramento Surge may be the answer.

Nuke the bastards! We can't contain it as long as we're worried about civilian casualties.
Posted by phidipides at March 30, 2007 06:29 AMThis war has been fought with lies from the beginning so McCain is just adding another lie to that strategy. That's been a problem with this war from the beginning because since everyone fighting our troops is a terrorist, and not some Iraqis trying to get a foreign army out of their country, we are now deluded about who our enemy really is. Suddenly that enemy, the Iraqi people, can't be our friend. Then there's the fact that Americans are now waking up to the realization that someone lied their asses off to start this war. What a case study in failure and folly threatening my country more then any thug with box cutter.
