the Democrats outraised the GOP candidates by more than 50%
The Democratics showing was spectacular to say the least. Especially Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) who realized more than $25 million in donations.
This seemed to particularly trouble the usual racists posting here. Remarks like, "well no one I work with has ever heard of him," were typical yesterday.
Obama saw more than 100,000 donors with 50,000 online donate to his presidential campaign - more than twice the number AIPAC's Queen, Hillary Clinton saw.
What do we conclude from all this? It's clear the 2008 presidential race is wide open and certainly doesn't belong to Hillary Clinton.
Posted by Christopher at April 5, 2007 04:20 AMThank God for Obama; this fund-raising speaks VOLUMES about those who signed on to his campaign. As in the outsourced, the fore-closed; the imprisoned for being Amerikan...shit! Why is ANYBODY surprised?
The surprise is relief that there's a chance Hill will spill...
Speaks VOLUMES of the folks who despise two-
faced Commie lover AIPAC Queen and drag Queen; there is a reason Bill fooled around.
Oh.My.God:
For all the talk about potential candidates who haven't entered the 2008 presidential race — from Mayor Bloomberg to Vice President Gore to Senator Thompson and Speaker Gingrich — the one that who would bring the most to the race is Vice President Cheney.

Bring him on. republi-cons hate him almost as much as we do. It is difficult to be as reviled as Cheney...unless you're the Mad King, idiot son of George.

How is anything about that racist Christopher.
Posted by snark at April 5, 2007 06:04 AMI have the same question as snark. I haven't noticed any racists posting here although I am somewhat naive.

Damn Christopher, you got to get over your attacks on coyote. I would appreciate it, and I'm sure the whole blog would appreciate it.
Here is the whole qoute from yesterday everyone, I do not notice a racist tone about coyote's comment.
Yeah, p-dip, people want the cowboy gone, but it doesn't mean they're looking forward to wall to wall campaigning for the next two years. Obama maybe made a whole bunch of money, but not a one of the non-news junkies in my office know who the hell he is, nor do they care. They'll start thinking about it maybe in the summer of '08. By that time, Republicans will be Mudd after a year of their corruption being exposed daily. They'll do the right thing.

speaking of Racists....how about Newt "Ghetto Man" Gengrinch. All this guy needs is a pointy hat and a sheet. It's not coincidental that his base is the Hard Right.
Posted by T2 at April 5, 2007 07:06 AMCreepiest photo of the year! As cheney looks from the behind the bu$h$ at bu$h.
Posted by Seven of Six at April 5, 2007 07:06 AMChristopher,
You have some serious issues. I'm embarrassed for you.
Posted by snark at April 5, 2007 07:08 AMThanks, SoS. Let's get this straight, just so everyone knows how to properly comment:
Disagree with Christopher on how the Dems are working to stop the war = being invested in having the carnage continue
Mentioning that Obama is virtually unknown outside political circles = racist
Pointing out Christopher's misunderstanding of the meaning of certain words = "whack"
Making fun of Christopher's lameness = homophobe
Wearing Armani scarves = poor leadership skills (Pelosi only)
Hmmm. Did I miss any? Because we wouldn't want to upset his delicate sensibilities! How can he think up new and exciting nicknames for people if he's seething with righteous outrage?
Posted by iamcoyote at April 5, 2007 07:18 AMT2 - Oh please let them choose Newtie. It could be hilarious!
Did everyone know that there were 3 recess appointments yesterday? Neither did I. Check out the new director of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs at the White House Office of Management and Budget, Susan E. Dudley who famously said:
it is more cost-effective for people who are sensitive to pollution to stay indoors on smoggy days than for government to order polluters to clean up their emissions.
He also installed Andrew Biggs, a guy who really wants to privatize Social Security as the Deputy Director of Social Security. That one should send howls of outrage all over DC and the blogospere!
Posted by iamcoyote at April 5, 2007 07:40 AMThe first order of business next week in the Senate should be to do a DOWN, up-and-down vote on these guys and a strong decision for the Congress never to recess until December 31, 2008.
Posted by Nobody at April 5, 2007 07:43 AMSo now we have a traditional role reversal?
The dems have become the corporate whores and the repubs have been relegated to corporate lap dancers?
I'm having problems with the Cheney wearing pasties visual.
Posted by TIKI AL at April 5, 2007 08:13 AMYeah, but would the Ice Queen Hillary pick Obama to be the VP on her ticket? That's the big question.
Posted by muckdog at April 5, 2007 09:48 AMLook, Christopher, at least the resident troll likes your cute nicknames!
mucky, you dog! How kind of you to take pity on him. As for your question, it wouldn't surprise me in the least. Lots of heads might explode at that matchup!
Posted by iamcoyote at April 5, 2007 11:07 AMWhat did he say? From an interview with CNN's Dana Bash and Giuliani:
GIULIANI: I have also stated that I disagree with President Bush's veto last week of public funding for abortions.
BASH: Is that also your -- going -- going to be your position as president?
GIULIANI: Probably. I mean, I have to reexamine all those issues and exactly what was at stake then. It is a long time ago. But, generally, that's my -- my view. Abortion is wrong. Abortion shouldn't happen.
God, it's impossible to get a straight answer out any Republican.

Posted by Judith at April 5, 2007 11:08 AMFor those who are interested, Oprah Winfrey will have Elizabeth Edwards on tomorrow to talk about their decision for John to run.
Posted by Judith at April 5, 2007 03:08 PMAnd you can bet that if this pattern continues that the "culture of corruption" Republicans will try to get around campaign donation restrictions, like the stunt Tom Delay pulled in Texas that has him facing jail time.
Next years election will be especially messy as the Republicans use every means and every trick their slimy little minds can think of to try to regain control of Congress, to try to put their totalitarian one-party plan for our democratic society back on track.
Which explains why the slimiest of them all, Karl Rove, is still in the White House (and with a security clearance) even after having participated in the outing of a covert CIA officer and the destruction of her clandestine intelligence-gathering network.
