Comments: Will The Press Ever Wake Up to Cheney?

"Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain."

Posted by Seven of Six at April 5, 2007 08:22 AM

It must be difficult for "lady Lynne Cheney" to figure out which turd to ladle out of the commode every morning then choose a suit for it.....

Posted by Maheanuu at April 5, 2007 08:30 AM

[Cheney, to himself]

I'll leave something for those Easter Egg hunters to find.

Blood clot with legs.

That photo scares the crap out of me. Normal human beings don't do that.

Posted by Via at April 5, 2007 08:37 AM

That picture reminds me of the classic movie footage hoax of the guy wearing the fake "bigfoot" suit lurking thru the woods.

Bigfool's suit is less hairy, and it's easy to track his bloody footprints back to Haliburton.

Pdox...what part of "the Press is in on it" is unclear to you? The Press and Media IS awake. They are the Enablers of the Big Lie. They are doing what their employers have hired them to do. When they print article after article degrading Pelosi in Syria and never mention that GOPers are on the same trip it is not because they are dumb. When they fail to expose Cheney for all the crimes you detail, it is not because they haven't noticed. It is their job to lead the reader/viewer away from the truth.

The 'Press' are afraid of Cheney.

Posted by Jim DeRosa at April 5, 2007 09:00 AM

And there are those who still question whether we will attack Iran.

Cheney's makin' sure that the little frontman speaks his lines properly---this was Nero's "presser" declaring Dems traitors who are killing our troops, right? Cheney was there to make sure the lines were said properly--like the prompter in an opera pit.

The work being performed? BushAmerica, a tragedy in five acts.

At this point, looking for the press cavalry to arrive is simply hyperbolic. They aren't going to report on Cheney, his failures, abuses and crimes ever, nor on his nefarious links to corruption, fomenting terrorism in Iran, or our future attack on that country.

Most of our national institutions have been corrupted by the cronyist elite and we're seeing that enough of the nation's vitality has been sapped that there is no real reaction anymore.

Our immune system is down, we are deeply infected with Cheneyism and the nation is desperately fighting to live, while Nurse Cheney and his Repub orderlies press the pillow over our face.

"Paging Dr. Press! paging Dr. Press! Dr. Press to the keyboard, please." Whoops, Dr. Press is off in the supply room getting a lengthy blowjob from a cute Repub candystriper.

RIP, America.

No doubt there are many who believe our Vice President's signature incompetence renders him incapable of pouring piss out a boot even if the directions were printed on the heel and, therefore, he's not even fit to sleep with the pigs. However, I would disagree.

I trust all here at TLC join me in wishing our Vice President long life and continued good health so that his official actions and public service become widely recognized and suitably rewarded.

Keepout, I'd love to see Cheney get thrown in jail for all his crimes, but there are different laws for the mega-rich. The most we can hope for is public humiliation after he leaves office, but frankly, I don't think he cares one whit what people say about him. He doesn't have to. He'll be long gone before we ever get a sense of all his crimes, too. I have no doubt he has something on just about every media person; that's how they control the message.

iamcoyote,
As my late mentor General Zia ul-Haq often counseled,
"What can you do? You do all you can and hope for the best!"
We live in interesting times; strange forces are afoot. One acts and hopes.
Warmest regards,

Great advice! Maybe someday, when sensing a weakness, a former crony will find a way to rat him out. It could happen!

Posted by iamcoyote at April 5, 2007 10:04 AM

I wonder if he avoided being charged in a conspiracy (wasn't his scrawlings on the Joe Wilson op-ed edition of the Times evidence enough?) with Rove and Armitage and Libby and Fleisher...who all escaped prosecution...because Fitzgerald didn't want to lose his job...?

My only hope is that litigation will dog Cheney's steps for the rest of his days.

if he dropped dead today the world would be a better place..i believe that

Nice rant Paradox - vic gold, the cult operative who turned on bush this week ("think dan quayle in cowboy boots") called cheney paranoid and meglomanical.

More and more, I get the prescient sense of the nightmare scene in Stephen King's book/movie 'The Dead Zone' where Martin Sheen's character is determined to push the nuclear button.

Posted by Jim Faith at April 5, 2007 10:34 AM

If he has an 18% approval rating that must mean some of the cult members don't even approve of him.

"I have no doubt he has something on just about every media person; that's how they control the message."

Iamcoyote, I have been of that opinion for a very long time. They have been wiretapping and reading emails from the get-go on friends as well as foes.

The puppet master has to make sure the puppet doesn't stray from the script.

Posted by Judith at April 5, 2007 10:54 AM

Jim Faith, the first time I saw Bush in '99 or so, especially during the 2000 debates, I saw The Dead Zone. The vacant eyes, the fake compassion, Jesus as his fave philosopher?? I knew him instantly. And I didn't even pay attention to politics at the time. Cheney, same thing.

Judith, you're right about the wiretapping. Remember when that Miranda guy got busted for breaking into the Dem's server and stole stuff on their plan to block SCOTUS noms? That alone showed how they operated. Wiretapping? Just another tool to win.

"For Christ’s sake, the son of a bitch shot a man in the face and then blamed the poor guy for it."

Plus, the poor guy apologized for the emotional turmoil he apparently thought "Shooter" was experiencing from the incident.

Hey Mike, good to see you. And you're absolutely right - to get the victim to apologize for getting in the way of his gun shows exactly what kind of scary power the VP enjoys.
