Even though I have lot of respect for Obama and Edwards, they both talk about ideas without much about how they will be able to implement them. However, Hillary seems to know what it will take to make an idea as a policy that can be supported by the US congress. That is why she says that national comprehensive health care will happen in her second term. This shows maturity and practical approach than just the slogans. I think she will make a better President then these two guys.
Posted by suresh at April 12, 2007 04:23 PMClinton/Edwards/Obama are pawns of Israel and the media/military/industrial complex who don't hold the best interests of the ameican people to heart. If this is the best the dems have, intend, to offer then we are well and truly screwed. In that the whole damned thing has become a media event we already are...
If they want this No Party Affiliation (we can do that here in Oregon, we call it thinking) vote they'de better start looking closer at Richardson, and Clark.
Then again, it's a media event, we the people don't count.
Posted by Thomas Ware at April 12, 2007 06:15 PMI don't know if I agree that Edwards talks about policies without having ideas how to implement them, but I definitely see that as a weakness of Obama. Hillary certainly has that kind of expertise.
But Richardson has even better qualifications, and talks better sense on a wide range of issues. I expect him to rank in the top 3 fairly soon.
As far as the Republicans are concerned, I think that if McCain drops out or polls in the basement, it will be clear that the Republicans have no chance at all in 2008. Giuliani is a joke, who isn't prepared to campaign, and can't run from his record and his associations. Romney could be dangerous, but he's awfully empty, and very effete for a Republican. After those two, there is nobody else. McCain is the media favorite, and until recently was widely thought to be a prohibitive favorite to win the Presidency in 2008 by the beltway insiders. Once he is seen as unviable I think the floor will drop out on the expectations for the GOP in 2008
I don't consider the LA Times to be a trustworthy news source when commenting on Democratic initiatives.
My gut reaction is Republan-interests want Hillary to be the front-runner because they've got an anti-Clinton campaign ready and waiting in their playbook.

Thomas, Richardson has to be tied up to some corporation and/or Israel. I read a story about Clark and his ties to the MIC, being a General he has to have some. (I don't have the link)
It will really get down to the lesser of evils.
I will personally support anyone who surrounds themselves with a very progressive cabinet. I don't think that Hillary will do that. Someone who has the balls to appoint RFK jr. as Interior Sec. It's going to take a miracle to get us out of the quagmire, especially with hawks and neo-cons circling.
I still want Gore/Edwards, Richardson Sec. of State, Clark Sec. of Defense.
The main reason I don't want Obama or Hillary is to keep the Senate Democratically as strong as possible.
"My gut reaction is Republan-interests want Hillary to be the front-runner because they've got an anti-Clinton campaign ready and waiting in their playbook."
Citizen Able, bingo. That has been my contention all along.
NO MORE DYNASTIES

To say this doesn't easily apply to Hillary Clinton is a vast understatement. The last thing this country needs right now is another triangulator for President. What it needs is someone who a) doesn't have baggage over Iraq and b) has the b**ls to bring the Iraq catastrophe to a close so that the U.S. can regain some measure of moral balance.
John Edwards will be the Democratic nominee, and he will rout whichever ghoul slouches forth from the GOP.
