another crony gets busted for cronyism...
wolfowitz pressured to resign from the world bank.
everything and everyone in this admin is poison, corrupt, and incapable of managing their way out of a paper bag. intimidate, obfuscate, lie, cheat, steal, and hide... yet they want to "bring integrity back to the white house." what a fcukin joke...

What anthony is talking about - What's telling is that overseas the news is a headliner, but here in the U.S., it rates 6th page or deeper.

World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz, one of President George Bush's closest aides and a key architect of the invasion of Iraq is facing disgrace and the loss of his job after giving his Libyan-born girlfriend a plum job.

Also - best wishes to NJ Gov Corzine.

New Jersey Gov. Jon S. Corzine was in critical condition Friday but expected to recover after his motorcade was hit on the Garden State Parkway and crashed into a guardrail, breaking his leg, six ribs, his sternum and fracturing a vertebrae.

Corzine was in the front passenger's seat of a sport utility vehicle driven by a state trooper when a white pickup truck swerved to avoid a red pickup truck that had moved onto the highway from the shoulder, State Police Superintendent Rick Fuentes said. The white pickup hit the passenger side of the SUV, sending it skidding into a guardrail. The red pickup left the scene. -AP news

Don Imus yesterday, Glenn Beck tomorrow?

During an appearance on CNN's Larry King program, former Air America host and newly announced US Senate candidate, Al Franken said:

"CNN has Glenn Beck on. Glenn Beck asked my congressman, Keith Ellison, who is the first Muslim to be elected to Congress, you know, I just want to ask you, how do I know that you’re not working with the enemy? I don’t know why that wasn’t grounds for CNN thinking, well, maybe Glenn Beck shouldn’t be on. I mean, how dare he say that to a congressman who has just been elected?"

Beck's program is consistently in last place against every other program on cable television, so it's something of a mystery who exactly at CNN is allowing this trainwreck to drag on?

Bendiotto must mean these folks:

Bill O'Reilly:

"We'd save lives because Mexican wetbacks, whatever you want to call them, the coyotes--they're not going to do what they're doing now, all right, so people aren't going to die in the desert."

Howard Stern:

'The closest I came to making love to a black woman was I masturbated to a picture of Aunt Jemima on a pancake box. I did it right on her kerchief.'

Rush Limbaugh:

When pressed by an African-American caller to identify "[w]hich team ... would be the worst swimmers and why," Limbaugh stated that "the white tribe would be the best swimmers" based on the performance of white athletes at "the Olympics." After apparently disconnecting or cutting the volume level of the caller, Limbaugh said: "[Y]ou're saying I'm being racist because I'm saying blacks can't swim." He further protested: "I mentioned the swimming comment only because it's not going to be fair if there is a lot of water competition in this. It just isn't. It is not a racial or racist comment at all."

Glenn Beck on antiwar activist Cindy Sheehan:

Cindy Sheehan. That's a pretty big prostitute there, you know what I mean?

Glenn Beck on Hurricane Katrina victims:

And that's all we're hearing about, are the people in New Orleans. Those are the only ones we're seeing on television are the scumbags.

Glenn Beck on Al Gore's campaign to raise awareness of global warming:

It's like Hitler. Hitler said a little bit of truth, and then he mixed in and it's the Jews' fault."

Idio and Anthony, those within the World Bank have been extremely unhappy with Mr. Wolfowitz, and he has given them the perfect opportunity to ask for his resignation. My understanding is that he has the same character flaw as John Bolton, which is arrogance. Wolfowitz dismisses financial professionals with the World Bank as know nothings.

The whole point of St Reagan's abolishing of the "Fairness Doctrine" was to allow the creation and funding of these extreme Right Wing propaganda/hate speech networks to indoctrinate low-grade, uneducated rubes 24/7.

It worked like a dream, and these HateTalk radio listeners' brains are poisoned beyond any possible restoration to sanity.

They "know" beyond a shadow of a doubt that lib'ruls hate the country and want to destroy it and therefore must be stopped by any means available: voter suppression, cheating, lying, lawbreaking and violence, if need be.

That's the current state of our democracy.

The Founders believed that democracy requires a somewhat rationally informed electorate in order to function----that's why our doesn't anymore and why Nero was "re-elected" in 2004.

"Election" 2008 will be a complete crap shoot--I will predict only that no rational, sane discussion of the issues and problems facing the country will occur in any way.

Posted by euzoius at April 13, 2007 07:17 AM

You know, you can be against anything or anyone, but these purveyors of hate take it to a new level.

Glenn Beck asking Congressman Ellison if he could be working with the terrorists because he is a Muslum man is absolutely outrageous. Mr. Beck should be happy I'm not his boss. Statements such as this are made to plant seeds.

Posted by Judith at April 13, 2007 07:20 AM

yes Anthony, Wolfie's adventures at the World Bank (how does he get a job like that, one he has no experience for) are a perfect fishbowl of Right Wing hypocracy, i.e. obtain by politics a high position, then use it for your own personal gain and for the enrichment of people who think like you, only. In order to guarantee continued affections of some girlfriend, he corrupts an international body without a care. And he was/is an advisor of George W. Bush.

Who at CNN hired Glenn Beck?

What suit or suits looked at this asswipe and said, "Yes, this is who deserves an hour program and a $500,000 a year salary?"

Enough.

Euzoius, how right you are and it is works, and you don't have to be uneducated for it to have a negative influence. My monied, educated GOP friends spew crap all day long as well, and they hate everyone they are told to hate.

Posted by Judith at April 13, 2007 07:27 AM

Time to send letters and emails to CNN. No more hate speech!

Posted by Judith at April 13, 2007 07:29 AM

Oh, oh. The House Judiciary Committee is "strongly considering" offering former DoJ official Monica Goodling immunity in exchange for her testimony in the U.S. Attorney matter, according to one very solid congressional source.

By-the-way, there are four years worth of Rove's emails missing, four fcuking years. However, we all know this is just grandstanding by the Democrats.

Posted by Judith at April 13, 2007 07:43 AM

It's obvious today who the real fascists are, and vile hate spewing hypocrites to boot.

Exactly. And I too think the republi-cons and neo-cons -and anyone else who claims "conservatism" as a core "policial ideology"' should be lined-up and shot or hung from the gallows for their traitorous activities and subversion of the constitution.

The one and only purpose of broadcasters is to make money for their owners. Everything else follows; shock jocks, porn and nutcases that draw audiences, premium prices for campaign commercials, and propaganda that the USA is the best of all possible worlds. The last thing broadcasters want is the hoi polloi storming their bosses' gated communities or realizing that the USA is fighting a never ending colonial war against Islam.

Glenn Beck oughta be sodomized with Imus' shriveled prick.

Posted by God Of War at April 13, 2007 08:55 AM

With regards to Wolfie, I'm wondering if his appointment wasn't a neo-con co-opt of the World Bank for the purpose of using it to pursue regime change in the Middle East. Pay special attention to whose wing Riza-baby was put under at the State Department--Cheney's daughter Liz-zard. Liz-zard has quite an interesting resume, lncluding a stint in Richard Armitage's company, he of Plame-leak fame. ("I couldn't help it--I'm just a gossip".) Liz-zard was No. 2 official in the State Department's Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs where she worked to develop regime-change strategies for Middle Eastern countries, with special focus on Syria and Iran.

So, it's quite interesting that Wolfie, one of the main architects of this war, managed to place his girlfriend in such a nurturing, regime-change enviroment.

Posted by Julie at April 13, 2007 09:06 AM

If I remember correctly, Wolfie still isn't divorced from his wife of some 30 odd years. But he's having the World Bank pay his girlfriend to have sex with him. Those are sure some "family values."

Nancy Pelosi appeared to be intelligent and caring on the Tonight Show last night defending her trip to Syria and explaining Congressional oversight.

She stayed to the end and shook hands with the guest band leader. A class act.

Regarding the Goldman-Sachs refugee that bought a senate seat and a governorship: No good photo-op goes unpunished.

It's clear that schools need to start teaching kids what is proper to say, and what is not proper to say.

Bad: Nappy-headed hoes.
Good: Blonde bimbos.

Bad: Blacks can't swim.
Good: White men can't jump.

Etc.

If our schools would teach these basics, instead of worthless things like math, science, and the language of the bigots, English; kids would be much better off. Especially if they want a career in broadcasting. I hear there's an opening at CBS for a morning show host!

Posted by muckdog at April 13, 2007 08:14 PM

Calling a girl a whore is hardly the same as calling one a bimbo, Muck. Calling a girl a whore is also a whole lot different that calling a mature woman a whore.

Posted by Julie at April 14, 2007 06:25 AM

Regardless, bimbo, airhead, whore or ho, bitch, tramp, c*nt, etc., are all derogatory slang language used to describe women. In studies done on slang, more sexual and derogatory slang exists to describe women. Slang is usually offensive and demeaning when pertaining to a woman, but that's another whole subject.
