[Editor: ignore=off]On the Tonight Show, Nancy Pelosi has proved that it is possible for a politician to also be an intelligent human being.
What a refreshing change from the President with no clothes, brain, or exit strategy.
Posted by TIKI AL at April 14, 2007 11:37 AMI think Dems walked into this trap by their stupidity. Iraq war is taking the Republicans down. Therefore Dems should have approved the funding saying that we are giving the surge a chance. However if in six to eight months if the situation in Iraq does not improve, let us discuss a new strategy. Bush would not be able to fight that. Let us be honest, if Iraq war is still going on by November 2008, Republicans are going to lose big. By end of this year you will see big push from Republicans in congress on Whitehouse to start troop withdrawal. Dems are not smart when it comes to tactics.
Posted by suresh at April 14, 2007 01:22 PMNo, the problem is that the Democrats keep letting Bush frame issues. They should say that the funding of this War rest completely with Bush, and he is refusing to fund this War by refusing to plan an exit strategy in Iraq. Keep telling people that he is the one refusing to fund the troops.

[Editor: ignore=off]Brave little Bushie Boy struts around constantly crowing like a little bantam rooster and sees enemies everywhere and then tries to make more enemies. What a beautiful mind...
The Iraqi people are not the enemy of the American people. The Iraqi people are tired of Bush imperial occupation, which is designed to allow Bush's corporate buddies to steal Iraq's oil.
In 1776 we Americans got tired of British occupation and British bullying and British theft of our vast timber resources (which probably had the same value to the British Navy that Iraqi oil has to the U. S. Navy today...). So we told the Brits and their Redcoats and their Hessians to bugger off.
Now Bush and Cheney are in effect, putting George Washington, Ben Franklin, John Hancock and other American resisters to Imperial British rule back in 1776, in the same basket as modern "terrorists" who are resisting Bush imperial occupation of their country.
Ironic. Bush 2 is now the same sort of imperialist as King George 3 of England...

Posted by Judith at April 14, 2007 05:09 PMUmmm...I think it's time to question Bush on whether he know what he's doing. This is not some new plan that should be given a chance--this is the old plan that has failed time after time. Bush, isn't learning his lesson. PLUS he's making things worse...which means his poor leadership is bad for America and good for our enemies. There I said it--there's no reason to worry about calling out a buffoon. Cheney and Bush should be confronted with the idiocy of their statements and told to just give up already and let others begin to clean up their mess.
Posted by Paul at April 14, 2007 05:43 PMThe problem with you Dems, liberals or what ever name you go by this week is, You never have any solutions just, bashing, character attacking and endless whinning.President Bush "Gets it!" , he knows he has to make real hard decisions that are not the most popular and would make most Democrsts puke from stress. This is the most dangerous time america has ever been in.We are in the fight for what is decades to come.Radical Islam is a global problem, not keep to a country. The enemy doesn't wear uniforms or even view anyone as innocent. If you care for your country, your fellow Americans and even your own families ,stop the B.S.... President Bush Loves this country and will do ,not what is easy or good for his ego or party ....He will do,what ever the cost to protect Americas first!
Posted by steve at April 14, 2007 05:58 PMOh my God, Mr. 30% (or less) has spoken. While 70% of this Country now sees this pResident for what he is, Mr. 30% is STILL drinking the koolaide. Yeah, Bush loves this Country like Hitler loved Germany.
Posted by at April 14, 2007 06:40 PMSteve, is your post a joke?
Posted by Judith at April 14, 2007 06:43 PMPresident Bush "Gets it!" , he knows he has to make real hard decisions
My point exactly! That's why he went after WMDs in Iraq insteasd of OBL in Afghanistan. He gets it.
President Bush "Gets it!" , he knows he has to make real hard decisions
Well, to be honest, I think "Steve" is non other than the nom de plume of the Mad King, idiot son of George. The Mad King was known to use the alias "Steve Rodnbottom" when lit and making passes at his fellow Skull-n-Boners. More proof?
,stop the B.S.... President Bush Loves this country and will do ,not what is easy or good for his ego or party ....He will do,what ever the cost to protect Americas first!
The exact same sentence structure the Mad King would use on a good day. Of course, a good day to a dry (wink) alcoholic is up for discussion.

...is Steve's last name Colbert? He's a riot. A regular Jonestown jokester.

Phidipides, by god, I think you are on to something. The term "real hard decisions" is a give away.
Most repubs try to tie BUSH AND TROOPS AS ONE ENTITY,,,that is not the case,,,We support the troops, but not BUSH...The troops did not send themselves to IRAQ,,,Bush did...All of us need to review the DOWNING ST MEMO again and then who do you support??.....................................................Charles Belenchia
