Comments: Gonzales Caught In Another Lie Before Testimony

A question about Lam---more an observation--which I've been bandying around the blogosphere because I think it's significant:

as far as I can tell:
Several times, DOJ flacks have said that Lam's current investigations did not play a role in the decision to fire her. In fact, they have gone so far as to say that they did not even discuss those cases, and although I haven't been reading the emails, I think that her caseload did not come up in them either.
That is a huge red flag all by itself. There's no question that Abu G. and his hench-christians knew the importance of Lam's investigations; therefore, if they did NOT act to ensure that firing her would not disrupt her work, they were grossly negligent.
In fact, since there is no criticism of her Cunninghama palooza work, we should infer that Abu G. strongly approved of it. There is no non-damning way to read the failure to ensure a smooth transition for her non-immigration cases---none.
I'm really surprised a bigger issue has not been made of this.

Forget to give my name. I'm sure you're dying to know which anonymous poster this was:

He's an effin Repig isn't he? If his lips are moving and sound is coming out you can god damn guarentee it's a effing lie, and if he is eating, then he's thinking about lying... How wonderful it will be when this bunch of thugs are lined up on the docket in the Hague.... Since Europe doesn't have the death penalty, they can live out their worthless lives in prison, die there and be buried in a potters field somewhere... A fitting end to all repigs!!!

Gonzo is in a deep hole and he's just too full of himself to stop digging. Every time opens his mouth to defend himself he's contradicting previous statements or exposing some new angle to those who will be grilling him later on.

A few more days just means more ammo against him.

Keep digging torture tzar.

Wave, buh bye Gonzo. Buh bye.

I kind of expect gonzales to resign today to take the heat off bush. Just think how a new confirmation hearing could be spun as the democrats interfering with the sainted AG's office just when the country (sob, sob) needs it the most inthe wake of the vTech shootings.

The fact that none of the DOJ emails about Lam EVER mention her spectacular ongoing bribery case is the dog that didn't bark. Marky is right on.

There is no way if this firing were being legitmately and responsibly handled that tons of mention wouldn't be made of the largest public corruption case in 50 years, to ensure it wasn't disrupted in any way. That it was never mentioned is very, very suspicious.

Of course, the lack of mention means that this case was the "real problem" with Carol Lam, as porcine vile Kyle wrote in an email to his WH puppetmasters. Like, duh.

"We don't want the corrupt Repub congressmen gettin' indicted". Pretty basic stuff for these degenerate "conservative" failures.

It's not perjury because the printed comments are not under oath. But it is a lie, so he will have a real problem weaseling out of this one.
