Comments: Staying In The Bunker

will someone please call a doctor? or is that a proctologist searching for the mic? I was referring to a mental health specialist, but this is a start

Sorry. By this fall, thanks to another spectacular terrorist attack "firmly linked" to Iran, we'll be bombing Tehran, yet another war for which "supporting our troops" and a blank check for Chimpy are essential. Oh yeah, and elections in 2008 will, of course, have to be suspended. Don't like it? Too bad. If people protest, martial law will be imposed, enforced by mercenaries working for the DOJ. Think it can't happen? Five will get you ten, that plan's on KKKarl's desk right now. Though their house of cards appears to be toppling, they're not going quietly, trust me.

Sniffing his ass probably isn't half as bad as catching a wiff of the putrid smell of decay emanating from between his ears.

Posted by snark at April 20, 2007 10:11 AM

...George W. Bush gives every indication that he will retreat into the bunker and run out the clock for the remainder of his term.

It's all he can do, Steve.
He's never had to work, never had to support himself or his family, never had to account for his failures or apologize to those he harmed, never had to work to repay debts or figure out how to recover from disaster. He didn't have to worry about getting into college; Daddy's money and connections bought that. (Kudos to the U of Texas law school which did not prostitute itself.) He's never been seriously injured or sick (for him addiction doesn't count).

He's surrounded himself with third and fourth rate people who can't think, won't learn and refuse to govern. None of them can help in in this crisis. None of them has the even the faintest clue how to help; or even, since this administration has cut itself off from all but a very narrow slice of policymakers, who to ask for help.

Governmental machinery has been neglected and corrupted into immobility and incompetence and any allies he may once have had are on the sidelines waiting out the disaster.

George Bush has never had to face anything out of which his money and connections couldn't buy him.
Now he does.
He can't do it. Simply can't
He hasn't got the character, intelligence, experience, or courage to do any of it.
Bush has long since abandoned the American people.
He can't face the fact that he cannot save himself.
Retreat is all he has left.

Waitaminute...April 6th and 17th have passed and there's been no nuking of Iran! Wha' happ'n? I guess those anonymous Russian intel agents...lied!

Yeah, I'll believe dalloway's doomsday scenario when it happens. As much as he's got a hankering for another war, Bush is not going to blow his chance to live the rest of his days off of the riches he's made while in office. I agree he's gonna run out the clock.

Until then, maybe we can enjoy some in the media's sudden discovery of Bush's incoherence at these "town-hall" pep rallies. We don't know what Bush will do, but we may as well use the bad press to continue tying all Republicans to Bush's failed leadership. There's a huge mess to clean up, and we'll need a larger majority to do it right.

Posted by iamcoyote at April 20, 2007 10:27 AM

When Bush says he has “full confidence” in one of his nominees, that person had better run for the hills.

Posted by Christopher at April 20, 2007 10:54 AM

Steve,

Speaker Nancy Pelosi just put this up on her blog, The Gavel:

The Attorney General is the defender of the Constitution and the chief law enforcement officer. The people of the United States must have absolute confidence in the integrity of their Attorney General.

By his actions and with his testimony yesterday, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales has lost the trust of the American people. The nation cannot have a chief law enforcement officer whose candor and judgment are in serious question.

The President should restore credibility to the office of the Attorney General. Alberto Gonzales must resign.

Posted by Christopher at April 20, 2007 11:12 AM

Correction - THE WORST presidency ever, not one of the worst.

Posted by The Bobster at April 20, 2007 11:25 AM

Yeah Christoper, and Bush will blow Pelosi off. Abu isn't going anywhere.

Posted by Judith at April 20, 2007 11:28 AM

According to TPM, Bush took Pelosi aside after their meeting this week and told her that he never talked bad about her Syrian trip. The guy is bonkers.

Posted by iamcoyote at April 20, 2007 11:33 AM

I think you're right, Judith. Gonzo is a part of the evil trifecta.

Posted by Christopher at April 20, 2007 11:45 AM

One of the most essential operations the Nazis undertook very early in their regime was to destroy the Rule of Law in Germany, politizing both the state prosecutors and the country's judges. The curtailment of individual rights and partisan prosecutions is a feature of all authoritarian regimes, and why KKKarl has focused on it so obsessively.

Since we've been openly equating Nero's WH with the Fuhrerbunker, allow me to recommend the recent German film "Downfall", about the final days in that more famous "bunker". Bruno Ganz is simply unbelievable as Der Fuhrer. Riveting.

And if by chance you've never read it, The Final Battle (1965) by Cornelius Ryan, detailing the final assault on Berlin (with Herr Schickergruber wildly raving at his "traitorous" generals in his bunker) is quite simply mesmerizing.

As an anology, however, the "bunker" fails. Bush has not been reduced to wild, drug induced ravings about non-existent panzer divisions rushing to fill 25 mile holes in the front. He has the most potent military in history ready, willing and able to carry out his every last insanity.

Posted by euzoius at April 20, 2007 12:01 PM

I noticed that there is no Thread or banner headline making reference to the declaration that "The War Is Lost", by your pathetic leader. Are you trying to hide the insane ranting' of an Old Fart that is clearly giving aid and comfort to the enemy. That worthless F**K has sent a clear message to our enemy... Keep killing innocent people and you will succeed. He should be tried for Treason, convicted, and punished to the Max, within the laws of the United States! The only reason to interrupt the Left's "Progressive" hole digging... would be to supply you with a bigger shovel.

Thank God, that our Commander in Chief, continues to keep your party out of this conflict.

Must have been a shock to bend over to kiss the chimp's ass, and see Rove's head hanging out of it.

Posted by TIKI AL at April 20, 2007 12:56 PM

Steve Soto, thanks for the biggest laugh of the day. I opened up TLC, and the next thing I knew I was ROFLMAO at the picture and your caption.

Posted by Judith at April 20, 2007 01:00 PM

ethan,

Can we get you a hanky to help you get over your hysterics?

Posted by snark at April 20, 2007 01:06 PM

He should be tried for Treason, convicted, and punished to the Max, within the laws of the United States!

Actually, there is no law that says telling the truth is treason (unless you're Rove outing a CIA agent), so Reid (if that's who you're talking about) is being a true American. Bush, however, is determined to destroy American democracy with his lies, so perhaps you might look for treason in your own back yard. Fortunately ethan, stupid isn't against the law, but it is highly amusing. Thanks for the laugh.

Posted by iamcoyote at April 20, 2007 01:08 PM

I'm not sure I'd agree that the Democrats have "backed off" from restricting the Cheney Administration. They seem to be slowly gathering blue dog and some Republican support. Reid's and Pelosi's performance at the meeting with the "bristling" Bush give me some hope that some spines are almost fully reformed.

The next appropriation measure is a long way away. The latest hot idea that seems to have a chance of passage is to pass successive 60 day funding bills, without strings. That ensures the debate never really stops and public disgust and Republican fear will continue to build steadily.

In the interim, possibly hundreds of our men and women will continue to die. Any way you look at it, we have no options that don't stink like Bush's butt crack.

Ummm Ethan, is that you in the picture behind Bush? Don't forget the meds. You know what the doctors say!

Posted by DeminNewJ at April 20, 2007 01:09 PM

The only reason to interrupt the Left's "Progressive" hole digging... would be to supply you with a bigger shovel.

I'm trying to think of if there is any bigger shovel than the surge? Nope. The surge is working...at killing more Americans.

Notice that the crowd is applauding.
Hilarious.

Notice that the crowd is applauding.

Harriet Miers is running around off camera with an "Applause" sign.

Posted by ann at April 20, 2007 01:58 PM

"Miers running around with an applause sign"

Just like any other sitcom....."Leave it to Rover". "I Dream of Cheney". "C*A*S*H"

Posted by euzoius at April 20, 2007 02:12 PM

steve, where have you been the past four decades? Justice died that long ago. Why do you think that we have had just a line of third string player in not only the Justice Depart, but all of politics in general.

The above is what happens when the corp lords tweak the educational system into it's downward spiral by removing school discipline, and diluting the schools by insisting that dead heads remain within the system to disrupt education. On top the above, we have a bunch of Jezebel airheads orchestrating various programs that INTENTIONALLY disrupt the education process: self esteem venues, homosexual clubs, parties all the time, promotion of prostitute clothing (self expression), boys sagging, rampant disrespect exactly like predatory jackals, the list of ed atrocities is endless.

I submit that the major victim of the above is the American people, just view the history, and boys, in particular. For males need solid discipline and fair discipline when young; anything less leads to these little terrorists like Gonzo running the US while torturing people like the cheap little creeps such as Saddam and all the rest.

Can we get you a hanky to help you get over your hysterics?

Or as Michael Caine (as Austin Power's father) would say: "Here's a tissue for your issue."

Posted by Jim Faith at April 20, 2007 02:51 PM

Shoulda known. When there's butt sniffing to be had, scout comes a-running, with his leather chaps and "rod of discipline" for the little boys. He so 'cited, he's nearly incoherent.

Steve, please, after this comment:

For we know that children and pre/post menopausal women have one thing in common: selfishness in combination with limited intelligence.

You've just got to find a way to ban this idiot. He has now insulted everyone's mother just weeks before Mother's Day. Enough is enough. He might as well be Don Imus.

Posted by ann at April 20, 2007 05:51 PM

scout, you are so sick....

Posted by tempus at April 20, 2007 05:52 PM

Remember, I'm a happily married man of over three decades

Yeah, yeah, that's why you're online, acting the clown, trolling for attention. I think you've hit every outrage point in one post; that's gotta be a record. Must be short on time before Dr. Phil comes on the tube, huh? Or is it American Idol night?

Posted by iamcoyote at April 20, 2007 06:07 PM

So, yes, you're a trophy girl;

I didn't know coyote was bulemic, had basketball-sized breasticle implants, oversized too white veneers on her teeth, and a French manicure she can barely wipe with without slitting her tonsils!! Ohhhhhh, now that's a woman!

Posted by phidipides at April 20, 2007 06:17 PM

I am so not bulemic, p-dip, that's a filthy rumor!

Posted by iamcoyote at April 20, 2007 06:36 PM

There are rumors about her up...naaaah I won't go there.

Posted by snark at April 20, 2007 06:49 PM

Scout, you know nothing about women. If you did, you would know that you shouldn't f*ck with them.

Posted by Judith at April 20, 2007 07:01 PM

Right on, Judith!

All lies, snark. All lies. Filthy rumormonger...

(Where's dj when you need him? Is that one word, or should it be hyphenated?)

Posted by iamcoyote at April 20, 2007 07:15 PM

I am so not bulemic, p-dip, that's a filthy rumor!

So explain to me why at the last TLC convention you would eat half a soda cracker and a lettuce leaf for lunch and have to run to the bathroom???!!!! I mean, when Judith said "There is waifish and then there is soda straw"...I mean, c'mon. Not that Judith and I would sit and dish you. It was mainly Judith. I promise. Let's face it, you cannot get all of your calories from Moet et Chandon.

And those damn veneers on your teeth. It was like talking to Secretariat.

Posted by phidipides at April 20, 2007 08:17 PM

Let them eat cake!

Posted by iamcoyote at April 20, 2007 08:39 PM

Iamcoyote, Phidipides is lying. I of course defended you.

Posted by Judith at April 20, 2007 08:57 PM

I have no doubt, Judith. I kept the receipts, just in case.

Posted by iamcoyote at April 20, 2007 09:06 PM

I kept the receipts, just in case.

Anyone can order the tuna and just eat a cracker and the lettuce leaf.

I of course defended you.

Riiiight. When Steve pounded the gavel to call the convention to order and coyote tripped on her stilettos at the top of the stairs in that sequined ballown, who the hell said it "Looks like someone 'sploded a bag of confetti" as she rolled down the stairs? Eh?

Posted by phidipides at April 20, 2007 10:08 PM

I just read that George W. Bush, in his presentation, disclosed the locations of our troops stationed in Baghdad, even using a map to pinpoint where they are for our enemies to go attack.

Hmmm, maybe Bush was doing his Geraldo Rivera impression, but instead of drawing in the sand, he did a power-point presentation revealing troop locations to our enemies?

But then, Bush was responsible for the outing of a covert CIA officer, wasn't he?

Can it be anymore clear that George W. Bush and the entire Bush administration are dangerous, and stupid, and incompetent?

Posted by The Oracle at April 21, 2007 01:26 AM

"sploded a bag of confetti"

Phidipides, no that is not what happened. What I said was "supposin a plate of spaghetti". I was talking about ordering dinner. Jeez!

Posted by Judith at April 21, 2007 04:33 AM

Thanks, Judith, the check is in the mail!

Posted by iamcoyote at April 21, 2007 06:48 AM
