Comments: US Dealing With Iran Through Back Channels

If the status of the N. Korea talks is any indication, saying that Condi has 'won' anything about dealing with Iran is at least premature.

My palm tree trimmers are better negotiators than Conarteesta, and they can barely speak English.

What is the latest assessment of the expected attack on Iran? It was talked up in March for April. April is almost gone. I think it is good if there is no invasion, but the carrier grops are still in the vicinity aren't they? Does Condi actually represent a counter-balance to these forces?

Steve, others, comment please.

Shock and Aw shit II, The Iran Sequel is set to go off on 30, April at 2359.

cromulant, the Iran War of Choice is going quite well. Under cover of a darkened moon last week, the massive bunker buster bombs obliterated the Iranian nuke program, forcing them to negotiate a surrender document with Condi Rice. Ahmed Chalabi has been installed as head of the new secular Iranian government, and his first move was to send millions of gallons of crude oil directly to Chevron refineries in the US. Another Bush triumph, wouldn't you say?

Condi couldn't reshelve books by herself, let alone win an internal political battle against Cheney.

If a postion she advocates has prevailed (which I doubt), someone like Gates had to be "helping" her--and I'm sure she as useful an ally as the Austro-Hungarian Empire was to Wilhelmine Germany in WWI. ("We are shackled to a corpse")

Er--well, I take it the war is still on.
