[Editor: ignore=off]Good for Obama and Clinton - following Reid's example of hitting back immediately with calm, but forceful framing. Steve, I'm not sure I want our side to foam at the mouth right back at the frothers. I think the public is sick of that kind of insane name-calling and one-upmanship, and want actual leaders this time. Sure, we wish they'd talk about this issue and that issue, but there're so many. Give 'em time, I'm sure they'll get to it.
Posted by iamcoyote at April 25, 2007 08:47 AMoh, scout has made a pronouncement about who and who is not a loyal american. bring in the feds to arrest those traitors! idiot.
Posted by benjoya at April 25, 2007 08:48 AMNah, benjoya, he's just trolling for attention since the wife has taken to turning Oprah up louder to drown out his droning on and on and on about "Israel blah blah blah." Can ya blame her?
Posted by iamcoyote at April 25, 2007 08:59 AMEveryone other than scout is a traitor and/or a false Christian.
According to scout anyway.
Other than Albert Champion who scout seems unnaturally fond of.
Posted by snark at April 25, 2007 09:07 AMI am very tired of hearing of "war on terror", or "terrorists". The greatest "terrorist" the US has to face is Dickhead Cheney. How sorry is that state.
Posted by tempus at April 25, 2007 09:09 AMRudy was a prick as Mayor and is a prick as Presidential contender.
Posted by Jim DeRosa at April 25, 2007 09:30 AMI hope Rudy gets the nomination. Then the Dem candidate can play the video of Rudy dumping his wife on TV before he told her he was dumping her, over and over and over and over.
Posted by T2 at April 25, 2007 09:36 AMWhile Hillary is busy pointing out tragedies:
"One of the great tragedies" is Congress gave Bush the authority to invade Iraq.
"One of the great tragedies" is Congress bought the WMD fantasy.
"One of the great tragedies" is so few in the Congress bothered to read the 2002 National Intelligence Estimate prior to voting.
There are more than enough "tragedies" to go around.

[Editor: ignore=off]Whatever, Christopher. If Obama had been in office then, he'da voted the same way. And Bush would have gotten his war no matter what the vote. He was determined and he had the power and bully pulpit. It was a stupid vote, but in the greater scheme of things, it's over. Unless, of course, you think it's a winning strategy to continue blaming the war on Dems in general and Clinton in particular. Just my opinion, obviously, but I don't think it is.
Posted by iamcoyote at April 25, 2007 10:03 AMsnark, shut up;
Truth hurts eh scout?
...hey, what page you on in Fisky?
320 something. Unfortunately, I only get about 45 minutes in the morning and 45 minutes in the evening to read while commuting.
Fisk has not said anything I would dispute as of yet. Reporting with feet on the ground is fine with me. You should should try it sometime scout.

Coyote can't stand Obama because he's:
1. a man (she hates men)
2. a minority (she hates them, too)
What are you going to do?

Posted by snark at April 25, 2007 10:36 AMThe republicans and the corporate media are living in fantasyland. Who was in control of the country on 9/11? What were the leaders doing before 9/11? What have republicans done since 9/11? If the Democrats were in control, the lies would be even bigger. Only with the support of the compliant corporate media would these liars peddle these distortions and lies. If the republicans are re-elected, the U.S. couldn't afford to defend itself. The special interest and criminals (Haliburton, Blackwater, etc.) would have all of the money.
Posted by smooth at April 25, 2007 10:39 AMProject much, princess? It's well known you're a carrier of Hillary Derangement Syndrome; you really ought to get that checked.
Posted by iamcoyote at April 25, 2007 10:39 AMThese responses seem acceptable, although I think that a connection should be asserted that Giuliani is parroting the same failed rhetoric as Cheney and Bush.
Whenever a GOoPer sounds like Bush or Cheney, we must say "That's what those failures Bush and Cheney said."
Bush and Cheney's names must be explicitly stated, so that everyone understands that "conservatism", the GOP and all of its candidates are not turning away from Bushism--indeed, that the GOP and its candidates are the party of Bushism.
Posted by euzoius at April 25, 2007 10:58 AMPerhaps Obama and Hillary will do better next time
Nah! But we can hope their proxies will!
Posted by goalkeeper at April 25, 2007 10:58 AMindeed, that the GOP and its candidates are the party of Bushism.
Oh, yes, euzoius, that's definitely the way to go; luckily, the GOP's making it easy for us by continuing to back Bush's failed policies. But they'll try to separate themselves from Bushco the closer we get to the election - our candidates shouldn't let them do it.

[Editor: ignore=off]Did you omit Edwards on purpose? His response err bitchslapping was, predictably, the best:
"Rudy Giuliani's suggestion that there is some superior 'Republican' way to fight terrorism is both divisive and plain wrong. He knows better. That's not the kind of leadership he offered in the days immediately after 9/11, and it's not the kind of leadership any American should be offering now.
"As far as the facts are concerned, the current Republican administration led us into a war in Iraq that has made us less safe and undermined the fight against al Qaeda. If that's the 'Republican' way to fight terror, Giuliani should know that the American people are looking for a better plan. That's just one more reason why this election is so important; we need to elect a Democratic president who will end the disastrous diversion of the war in Iraq."

Posted by God Of War at April 25, 2007 12:59 PM...but I would have not looked twice at it in a book store or library because of taking the title literally...
What is it you call that? Oh, right! Preconditioning. Powerful stuff that. ;)
I have a hard time putting the book down.
I have a hard time holding it up after a good while. But yes, it's so well written I don't want to close it either. And fortunately I'm not distracted by The View like some. Speaking of which, you must be sad that Rosie (whom I know you admire) is leaving the show!
Posted by snark at April 25, 2007 01:23 PMBush colonoscope declared he's running on local Phoenix Fox Noise today.
He looked like the Cryptkeeper on valium minus the jokes.
Some of our local dino riders shared comments of doubt on the air: "I think he's too old", "He's still joined at the hip with Bush", "He shouldn't joke about bombing Iran".
Joking about planting a IED on Jon Stewert's desk and wanting to kick his(Jon's) dog on the way in did not endear him to the merican public on The Daily Show last night, either.
When the crowd cheered Jon for saying we were in the middle of a civil war, McLame quipped "I think we know whose side they're on".
Jon shot back "They are on the side of America. They are patriots." (more cheers)
Will someone please stick a silver fork in this rich out of touch seventygerian? He should be drooling in an attic in Scottsdale instead of embarassing the people of Arizona.
He needs an EGO IED.
Posted by TIKI AL at April 25, 2007 01:29 PMThanks, GoW, I hadn't seen that one! Ol' Rudy got a three-fer.
Posted by iamcoyote at April 25, 2007 01:34 PMTIKI, I couldn't believe McCain made that IED joke, and the kick the dog one, either. I'm so glad he did it on TDS, which covers a huge audience. Now a lot more people know what a real prick he is.
Posted by iamcoyote at April 25, 2007 01:40 PMWe do seem to forget who was sitting in the WH when 9/11 happened. Democrats need to remind people of the FACT that no warnings were heeded by GWB everytime the GOP wants to drag out the "your safer with us in the WH" line of crap. Keep us safer? Really? You sure failed the first time.
Posted by Judith at April 25, 2007 02:40 PMGOW, welcome back.
Posted by Judith at April 25, 2007 02:49 PMIt's going to take a total drubbing in 2008 before the GOP understands that the "all fear, all the time" stick lost its effectiveness after Katrina. Losing a city of half a million people through incompetence kind of voids whatever came before it.
Oh well, provided the Democrats fight back, it is better for America if the GOP candidates campaign under the delusion that per Ktrina framing still works.
Posted by herbal tee at April 25, 2007 03:06 PMKO just totally ripped Rudy several new ones. He was pissed!!!
Great Special comment
I'm sick of hearing 9/11 fear mongering. It was a set up to convince Americans that war is good. I only hope the Bushites and their extended "crime family" do time for those senseless murders. Mass murder in the whitehouse. If 9/11 had't succeeded, Shrub and company would not be in the whitehouse today. They would all be in high security prison for the rest of their lives. The twins would be dowin lineman work cleaning our highways.
