Comments: Senate Passes Timeline Bill 51-46

Here's a newsflash Mr. Al Dabbagh, the Dept. of Defense signalled this past week that training the Iraq Army to take over was no longer part of the plan. Train your own army.

McCain and Graham both failed to vote today. If I was an old guy, running for president on continuing the War, I'd think it was politically expedient for me to go on to work this morning and vote against this bill. Wonder why McCain didn't ??

McLame was busy disarming the party favors from his Easter IED Egg hunt.

i work with the military. i hear them complain about this war almost daily. it is not uncommon to hear a soldier say "they don't want us there so why the hell are we still here." i hear a marine say i served two tours the fcuk do i wanna go back. i came back and they had me in a room... "are you ok,"
"yeah, i'm ok."
"good, you're going back."

this is how they support our troops. i have story after story. army, marine, navy. its all the same. it's their job to get the boogeyman. that's what they are trained for. its our job to take care of them, sadly, we are falling short.
this is fubar of diabolical proportion and all the beltway paper soldiers can do is state if you question you are unpatriotic. romney has boys of age to sign up. most pundits are of age to sign up, but they stay behind their keyboards or mics to give of soundbites and take potshots. i have to help put these guys back together. i have to help them get through their spouses cheating on them because they were away for so long or they were scared they wouldn't come back. that's what i do for a living. since i've been over the pond, i've not had one servicemen say i wanna go back to fix iraq. they wanna go back to be with their brothers, because they are loyal to them and feel they aren't doing their part because they aren't in the combat zone. we train them, we send them to fight, they know is a bunch o' shit, but they go. it's up to us to make sure they are whole once they return. sadly, we are falling short. it's easy to gamble with someone elses money. that's what this admin, these repubs, and all the freakin rightwing folks are doing. who exactly have they spoken with in candid moments who actuall served over there...???

nuff said.

War is the total failure of diplomacy.
It should be used as a last resort only.

Bushco has failed the troops horribly.

Keith and Tweety are on MSNBC together right now in the run up to the dem candidate debate.

Will the dems go after Hillory? Stay tuned.

thanks for your great post, anthony--it helps me try to understand.

Bush: no price is too great when someone else is paying it. The despicable turd.

Goddamn. Just nominate Edwards already. I've seen all I need to see.

Oh, Bendorito...your ratfuck party has given Osama more victories than he could have ever imagined in his 72-virgin wet dreams. You stupid bastards. Tell me...was it intentional or gross negligence?

Exactly the sort of victory Al Qaeda needs at this point in time.

Do you mean the latest series of bombings, troop deaths, or the incompetence of the republi-cons that allowed them into Iraq?

Hillory won the debate. Wasn't even close. What a polished pro. Like her or not, she will be president.

And you know, I have not been a fan. But I give credit where it is due.

Absolutely no more Imperial presidencies. Even republi-con lite is a bit too much republi-con in my book.

If you haven't noticed, Riverbend is leaving Iraq. The surge is working! Peace, and safe journey.

Mr al-Dabbagh, you are the only person left in the world who still thinks the Americans are there to build Iraqi forces to take over.

No he doesn't Steve. What he does think is that these Americans provide great cover for ethnic cleansing and by the time they throw the Americans out, Baghdad will make a lovely suburb of Tehran.

the Senate vote made it all the way back to page 7 in my daily rag...where it was then referred to as "historic". You'd think that when both houses of congress vote to oppose the president and call for ending a war...it might warrant at least below the fold on a front page? I'll bet that Bush gets front page treatment when he vetoes it....anybody wanna bet?
