Comments: Establishing the Decidership

Somehow, I don't think this stinker would pass even a ghost of judicial scrutiny; even by the Roberts court. This is nothing more than a Presidential edict. Unless you believe in the awesome powers of the Unitary President and we all know a few who do, the President does not have unilateral authority for decidin' whether the Constitution shall be "operational" or not.

In one of the most chilling implications I may have been reading into the declaration, there seemed to be much anguished, contemplation of the sad but possibly necessary step of "protective custody" for leading jurists and Congress Critters. Only to assure the COG, (continuance of government) of course.

This sickening document is nothing less than a claim for dictatorial power in times of self-declared emergencies. That it almost certainly lacks any significant compliance with the constitutional assignments of power, probably makes no difference at all. This crowd have shown that they would jump at the chance to implement it. Once begun, the process would either lead to a constitutional removal of the administration; (i.e. impeachment), violent clashes in the streets, or everyone can just learn to smile a lot, watch American Idol and keep shopping. And we can just thank our lucky stars that we're being so well protected by our stalwart, Dear Leader.

I believe it behooves us all to agitate as loudly as possible to get some intelligent representative to challenge this disgusting attempt at a power grab. This needs to be shown in the harsh light of reality and directly challenged by the Congress v President in the Supreme Court. If nothing is done, any time DICK Cheney or the Dim Son feels cornered, they can always push the big red Easy button. That the consequences are guaranteed to be catastrophic will not be one of their concerns.

A pre-emptive strike on the American people.

"A Dictatorship would be a lot easier, if I was the dictator." Heh heh heh hee.

This is just the next step in the takeover of America by the ruling class. "Unitary Executive" is just another word for 'Dictatorship."

He has also assumed the power to control the National Guard. The MSM is a lost cause and the Dem leadership is no better. Bush has all the powers now that he needs to declair martial law and they chose to let him do this without raising even a warning flag to the nation. It is disgusting and unforgivable.

Hmm i notice that the economy also can be used as an emergency. With him spending so much money in iraq, dictatorship cant be that far off... :)

Bush, as you apparently cannot run your sandbox in the Oval Office, so I really do not know what makes you think you can competently run a country. You are a brainless dork, and hopefully the last of your species.
