Comments: Mr. 32%

The closest the Chimp would get to Goliath is the size of his excrement, both verbal and anal. And we won't even discuss Cheney, because I'm out of Gravol.

judging from the Greenhouse deal at the G-8, the Dems aren't the only ones who tremble in the presence of our profoundly unpopular president. I use the word profoundly...it has been years, years! since Bush has been at or above 50% approval. It's not a new thing, it's a profound and prolonged rejection of this man. Yet, he wobbles along, ruining lives and our very national fabric as if he's in the 70% range. The Dem leaders should be doubling over with guffaws every time he opens his mouth to preach his tired b.s. It's way past time to pull back the curtain on his clown show.

Steve and Mary, I'm sorry for losing my temper with scout, and threatening him. I know that's not what TLC is about.

I just get fed up with him attempting to post when nobody here wants to read his bile, and his favorite target is someone I'm fond of. Please except my apologies.

[smiles] Given what I've been forgiven, my good tempus, your sincere plea has 100% chance of being accepted.

Change happens. It may be a long, long hot summer, over at the Party page I saw GDP was .6 this morning. Prices are climbing with the mercury.

We just have to wait. When has human behavior and biology ever been static?

Here it is: .6.

There has to be a tipping point somewhere. It's there, on some horizon, maybe, but it has to be there.

Tempus, although I have had to apologized a couple of times myself, please don't feel you need to apologize for anything you say in response to Scout. He literally asks to be verbally beaten up.

32%????? I thought I read that he was at 28%. I'm beginning to think he could go as low as 22%, and everyone would continue as though he was at 85%. Go figure. Short of threatening to kill people's children and their spouses or blackmailing with a tape or two of phone conversations, I have no explanation for this phenomenon.

Mr. "War CZAR" Bush? How stupid was that one??? "Czar" is not a popular term in this country, and here we have the Repuglies, who have been very good at "loading the language" using the WRONG language to appeal to the American citizens. Too weird. No wonder he's doing so poorly.

Are there any imaginary pilots here?

nearly 7 in 10 republicans still think he's doing a fine job - how is that even possible?!!?

the ruling class and ruling elites must still love him (and his tax cuts) for him to even still be in office after he's fucked up nearly every single thing in domestic and foreign policy.

incompetence thy name is bush.

this guy could drop the bomb and start a full scale nuclear war and there'd be 25-30% of america that would continue to believe in him.

Yeah, Michael, check out Robert J. Lifton and his studies on brainwashing and cults and you'll begin to understand that this isn't a "culture of corruption", but a "cult of corruption". Cults believe the end justifies the means. The "other side" has to live up to the cults' supposedly high standards, but the cult's own higher moral authority allows them to break all the rules. Edwards is right when he talks about the "war on terror" being bumper sticker thinking. That's typical "loading the language", which is cult technique.

"The "other side" has to live up to the cults' supposedly high standards, but the cult's own higher moral authority allows them to break all the rules." -Julie

- But there is no 'other side.' Digby in his eternal näiveté, knows this to be true, but continues, for reasons I know not why.

Julie, what a good statement by Edwards.
