Posted by Judith at June 10, 2007 03:56 PMTony dies, but lives.
In this season's first episode, at Bobby and Janet's vacation cabin...the hosts, and Tony and Carmela are enjoying a cocktail lakeside. Carmela relates the horror of the parents they know whose little girl nearly drowned, but was revived...just barely....and now, severly brain damaged, she sits in a wheel chair ...neither dead nor alive. A living death. A portent for Tony?
I think that would neatly...and justly... put finished to The Sopranos.
Now for a revival of my favorite HBO drama, Deadwood.
As Eng Lit major, I'm certain were Shakespeare living today, he would write...atleast part-time... for HBO.
Posted by endgame...AK at June 10, 2007 04:16 PMJanice will whack Tony. Trust me :)

Posted by neilario at June 10, 2007 04:32 PMAfter Tony's rough final season, and given his essential selfishness and the bunker mentality that has taken over, suicide is not out of the question.
Posted by Stranger at June 10, 2007 05:41 PMWhat no live blogging the final episode for us non-HBO households?
Posted by snark at June 10, 2007 07:16 PMSnark, yeah, I agree.
Posted by Judith at June 10, 2007 08:07 PMI don't have cable and have only seen the show twice. Here's my 2 cents. Tony, who has been seeing a therapists for years, has a moment of revelation about his life and his authentic self. Overcome with sorrow for the wasted years, the pain he has caused, he kills himself because the burden is too heavy to carry.
Posted by Judith at June 10, 2007 09:10 PMThat picture is straight out of The Godfather.
Posted by Judith at June 10, 2007 09:19 PMEndgame, great ending.
Posted by Judith at June 10, 2007 09:26 PMI haven't watched the Sopranos since the third season (no real reason, just don't watch much TV), but I did watch last week and this week.
I'm not sure how I feel about the finale. I am curious what other, regular viewers thought of it.
Posted by James E. Powell at June 10, 2007 11:39 PMi thought it was great...life goes on
Posted by dennis at June 11, 2007 04:12 AMHaven't seen a single episode but the NY Post and the NY Daily News were both disappointed if the headlines tell the story.
Posted by snark at June 11, 2007 05:50 AMWHAT HAPPENED? Did he live or die? Snark and I want to know.
Posted by Judith at June 11, 2007 05:55 AMI hates gangster shows. Deadwood shoulda gotten 7 seasons.
Posted by iamcoyote at June 11, 2007 05:57 AMa clever, if not slightly unsatisfying ending. Sopranos, the Movie, he we come. I've never liked Journey.
Posted by T2 at June 11, 2007 08:33 AMRude Pundit's got a good take on the ending.
Posted by iamcoyote at June 11, 2007 08:36 AMpeople actually watch a teevee show about a fat glorified mobster?
I really thought americans were more civilized than this.
just kidding about americans.
