Didn't Saddam have agreements with China and other (not USA) countries to begin development of oil fields as soon as UN sanctions came off? Cheney decided to make sure that never happened, and Bob's your uncle.

A funny thing happened as an Iraq invasion outcome, many oil producers like Iran and Russia decided to take oil off of the dollar price peg we rigged, get it out of our commodities market and resume an older practice of doing long term delivery contracts at negotiated prices.
Naturally China leaped at this chance to lock in a long term allocation and other capital rich/oil poor asian economies like Japan and Korea are fishing for these deals too.
What;s even scarier is that the Chinese are about to do a huge devaluation of their capital markets within a few weeks as they are uneasy about all the sloppy dollars sloshing around their system from the huge trade imbalance caused by Chucky Consumers fondness for cheap crap that breaks out of the box.
When you add this to the Bear Stearns multi trillion hedge fund fiasco and some other huger lurking debt collapse from a yet unidentified player in the hedge fund world, the entire banking sector is about to go into a scary nosedive way worse than a mere 'crash'.
Do you wonder why Muck has been absent lately? His whole smug world is coming unglued and the poor bastard is probably struggling to not drown.
Instead we get this childish peter troll and weirder idiots with comic book names like 'Scout' and 'Captain Reality'.

Guess you haven't noticed China cutting power deals with Pakistan, paying for, building and using a major new deep water port in Pakistan close to the mouth of the extermely strategic Straits of Hormuz where most Middle East oil has to transit, working on all central asian counties for power.....
