Comments: Propaganda is Working and Other News

Love $15 a gallon gas and 30 dead GIs a day rather than 3 just for starters?

You'll love this war with Iran coming up.

Thanks congress.

this is ludicrous on its face.

our BFF Israel's been running an illegal, immoral and murderous occupation of Palestinian territories for 40 years.

we're running an illegal, immoral, and murderous occupation of Iraq, and an endless occupation in Afghanistan where we murder lots of Afghan civilians from the air on a daily basis while letting the proported goal of our invasion slip away unharmed.

but we're condemning Iran?? who the fuck did they invade and occupy?

bottom line, we have ZERO moral standing to condemn anyone for any goddamn thing.

fuck every douchebag member of the House who voted for this rancid testament to our hiubris and hypocricy.

Shades of the stupid Iraq War vote all over again.

Wasn't there a song about this behavior?

"When will they ever learn?"...P,P & M.

"Do you think Saddam Hussein’s regime in Iraq was directly involved in planning, financing, or carrying out the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001?"

Cheney has worked tirelessly to hoodwink Murikans into thinking this is true. Frankly, I'm surprised the number isn't higher.

Oh jeez, Tocqueville noticed all this stuff in the 1840s, fat happy euromutt buffoons seared by old country culture memories yearning to grab real estate and grub money.

T'was ever thus. Iran war is a non starter, we haven't the boots and the airforce is overrated and useless at situations where issues are decided at ground level. It would throw the international oil markets into shock, piss off China and Russia and the EU and they all now own us.

By september, things will be so ugly and wecked in the markets that W will be lucky to pay the rent at the white house and cheney is sliding into an abyss of irrelevence, an idiots tale full of noise signifying nothing.

I will keep reiterating that the b movie actors on this stage are straw critters about to drown in very big problems they are in no way fit to handle.

You have to look beyond the worm can squirming of personality and look to the increasing signs that this is a watershed time marking the passing of Amerikka from the scene as a 'player'.

We will soon go back to our pre international phase that began with Thayer Mahan and Henry Lodge and will resume being the big dorky childish mess nation that is our only true legacy.

We had our time in the sun and blew it.The grownups are taking it back as it drops from our clumsy greay fingers.

This "carrier group in the Gulf" stuff has been going on for months...Remember, the Iran War was supposes to start in April on the dark moon cycle. How many times does it have to be said that the backline forces financing the Israel Lobby and the PNAC and the Republican Party are controlling the Cable Media, and the Broadcast Media and much of the Print Media to spread propaganda. You can't blame the public for buying something that is fed to them relentlessly on a daily basis by the Media. I think that it is starting to sink in to many Americans that we are in much worse shape than we even thought. And perhaps powerless to do anything about it .

Ask Americans to point out Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan or Iran on a map. Talk about realizing our country is bunch of overcarbohydrated-fed dolts.

Mr. 41% lives next door to me. Nice guy, average intelligence, would do anything for anyone, but never read a book, never doubted anything his Government told him, not interested in learning anything new, never thinks for himself much less outside of the box, and thinks I am radical. He also thinks that I am just uneducated when it comes to politics. Really?

If you don't know by now that the terrorists came from SA, then you are absolutely willfully stupid.

the House voted 400-2 to approve a resolution charging Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with violating the 1948 Convention on Genocide and the United Nations Charter because of his alleged calls for the destruction of Israel.

Based on a *speech*?!?!?!

Of course, actually invading another country without justification, threat or UN approval; and killing and torturing hundreds of thousands of innocents in the process; and totally ignoring the Geneva conventions (including even the minor bits about mail delivery and stuff) isn't as bad as giving a *speech*.

Soccerdad, you were wrong when you predicted the Dems would lose the election in 2006. Now you see why. The powers that be knew that it was okay to have the Dems run Congress, because the Dems are meek little sheep who'll do whatever their AIPAC campaign funders want them to.

Soccerdad,

Love your posts....you always seem to hit the nail on the head, specially on this blog....But I can't believe you understimated the stupidity of the American people...shame on you.

Foreign policy doesnt change whether its a Democrat or Republican in power. A hundred years of American history should learn you a bit.

You mean South America right Judith?

LOL - No Seven of Six, South Africa.

Soccerdad,

Scott Horton had the same info about carrier deployments at his blog as the DebkaFile info on the Enterprise deployment. Horton had the 4th carrier down as the Truman, which is right, if true. Horton, who, I trust, claimed his info came from a military analyst friend. So 2 sources for that but no other confirmation. If true, that's a war move, not a threat.

You cannot effectively battle the deliberately ignorant. You can, however, profit off of their stupidity.

If they will not inform themselves, they deserve to be taken advantage of. You and I might as well be the ones making the money off of them. If you cannot educate, exploit.

How the fuck do you think Rupert Murdoch and his minions got so filthy rich?

Posted by God Of War at June 25, 2007 07:45 AM

No Seven of Six, South Africa.

I thought so. LOL

Posted by Seven of Six at June 25, 2007 08:27 AM

Perhaps most alarmingly, 41% of Americans answered 'Yes' to the question "Do you think Saddam Hussein’s regime in Iraq was directly involved in planning, financing, or carrying out the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001?"

That total is actually up 5 points since September 2004....It looks like we have the government we deserve.

While I'd agree that the sheeple have the gov't they deserve, I'd harp on this point: if there exists evidence of a greater, on-going, and utter failure of American Media Establishment, I'm unaware of it.

If, four years later, my boss understood exactly the opposite of 41% what I'd told him/her--I'd be fired.

This is the evidence that the MSM can't be saved. And good riddance.

Debka doesn't usually get the big deployments wrong, but what it does get wrong is the possible meaning behind them. Sure, it's saber rattling, could lead to worse, but the Nitmiz-class Carriers have been going out on 6 mos. rotations in the gulf lately, no doubt as support to Iraq but also message to Iran. One of the current carriers in the Gulf, the Stennis, must be about due to come home soon, seeing as it has been in that neighborhood since mid-late Feb., less than a month shy of a 6 mos. deployment. I sumbit that it is possible the Enterprise is just the replacement for the Stennis on a 6 mos. rotation schedule, although I have not heard any specfic amount of time the Stennis is supposed to be there. This is just a guess on my part.
