Comments: Younger Voters Turn Against GOP

It's enough to give me hope for the future.

thanks Gordon Smith the pretend moderate from oregon in getting his pals past the reality of science. This, another reminder why Gordon Smith needs to go and upon leaving, stand trial for his crimes against the people of this state, and the country.

but there is no accountability. it would fall on the powerful, and they can't be bothered

so, really, this group 17-29, isn't that different that the general public. Still about 30-32% hanging with the GOP/Bush. I'd like to see this poll break the group down as to religious inclination and race. I'm guess that the 25-32% that are aligned with the GOP are also in families that are strongly Evangelical or Born-Again, and are white. In other words, the kids are like their parents. What makes me nervous is the 54% that say they'll vote Dem for Pres. Lose a couple % and its a statistical dead heat...after all Bush has committed. Boy, it is amazing what a difference a Draft makes with this age group. This sure ain't the 60's.

Aaah the kids are amazing. I work with a bunch from the avante jazz music scene here in a booking project I do making concerts as a hobby and I remember my many kid roommates in Seattle and the young blue collar meathead kids I work with here.

I dig em as many are wise beyond years and remember, they are the ones who get drafted when the pseudo empire goes into its final thrashing paroxysms. Milo at the Calm Before the Sand is representative but he doesn't want to be anyone's poster child.

After the hyper narcissistic excess of the babyboomers who made this mess whining about taxes and the callow gen x brats, wannabe Reagan Youth, in large part, it is refreshing to see the advent of wise, brilliant kids who can probably be trusted to save us from our own stupidity and profligacy to say little of the infantile egocentricity.

As a long gone geezer I once knew said "Aah the kids are terrific."

Well, the next time a Democrat calls me for money and hangs up on me before I have completed my first sentence, they all can go to hell. I called our Democratic Headquarters here in St. Louis to complain, and a recording told me the voice mail was full and to call another day. They may have trouble getting recruits of any age with that kind of behavior.

54% is not a very encouraging split for the youngest voters, especially after watching the disasters of eight years of Bushism.

Younger voters either vote en masse against the global-warming-denying Repubs in 08 or their world and their kids world is absolutely kaput, and there won't be a goddam thing anyone on "earth" (so to speak) will be able to do about it.

54%, Good Christ. But 62% want a single payer system--oh yeah, Repubs will be deliverin' that, kids, fer shure...

What have Rove and Co. got to show for their youth efforts?

Surely you can't have forgotten this

If that isn't a lasting tribute the both the quality and the success of their efforts, then I'm sure I don't know what is.
