Maybe with all of that money Hillary can buy some electability and Barack can purchase some testicles.
But probably not.

Posted by Seven of Six at July 2, 2007 01:38 PMI am trying to be optimistic about the free flow of all this money so early on. Maybe the candidates will all find donors suffering from donor-burnout sooner rather than later, and then they might have to do something radical: compete on the issues.
It will be interesting to see how they choose to spend their cash--a tsunami of negative ads? a battering ram of a single issue/single commercial played over-and-over? a buckshot of 20-30 sec spots on a variety of subjects? Jet fuel for more primary-hopping (shuttle-based campaigning at the grassroots level)? Taking out internet ads on every blog---sort of like Ann Coulter's ads showing up on Josh Marshall's site?
I would reserve a fair amount for lawyers contesting voter challenges on election day though.

I agree. This goes a long way in proving that in order to get elected, a candidate for higher office must have tons of money. It also demonstrates the stranglehold that the two party system has in the United States to the detriment of those running outside the two party system in this country.

Looks as if McCain will go the way of Joementum in 2004 - and I expect he'll come out of the experience as mean and embittered as Joe is.
