The Republican base was furious. They were saying it is wrong to convict someone of perjury and obstruction of justice unless there is proof of an underlying blow job. (Modified from Bill Maher)
Thank god Busch and his followers promised to do better than Clinton. Ohhhhh, that damn Bill Clinton. Pardoning people right and left...except he never once pardoned or commuted anyone guilty of jeopardizing national security.
Posted by phidipides at July 3, 2007 09:22 AMas we head into July 4, the most frightening thought is that it is still one and a half years until Bush is no longer president. That's a long time.
Posted by T2 at July 3, 2007 09:29 AMT2, Congress, Republicans and Democrats just fucking don't get it! If they fail to impeach both Bush and Cheney, the damage to this Country knows no bounds. Eighteen months is more than enough time to further destroy the principals on which this Country was built. IMPEACH THE FUCKERS!
Posted by Judith at July 3, 2007 09:43 AMBy-the-way, FUCK THE 4TH OF JULY. That's my take on it.

Have you thought of giving Jack K a call?
He is out of the big house now and maybe he could help.
By-the-way, FUCK THE 4TH OF JULY
Better to celebrate October 17, 2006, the day the Bill of rights died.
Have you thought of giving Jack K a call?
I bet he's with that soviet spy G. Busch pardoned. What is it with you guys and this weird desire to make America into a 3rd world country?
Posted by phidipides at July 3, 2007 10:33 AMI haven't kept up with the Scrushy-Siegelman case but I wonder if this is pay back for the Dems getting Guy Hunt because he was a Repug.
Posted by JohnT at July 3, 2007 10:47 AMwell said, mary.
scott horton's:
".. intervention to persecute their political opponents; the tell tale sign of tyranny..."
that's precisely right.
- persecute-through-prosecution,
- intimidate voters,
- intimidate vote-registering organizations,
- ignore or speciously interpret redistricting and voting laws and precedents
- intimidate u.s. attorneys into following the whitehouse line,
- appoint judges who aren't just conservative, but are, first and foremost, republican party political operatives - john roberts comes to mind (as does his predecessor, william rhenquist).

...You put me in a festive mood, Judith. I wonder if that bi-centennial inflatible doll with the stars 'n stripes open-bottom corset is still in the attic.
Posted by TIKI AL at July 3, 2007 01:00 PMTIKI - you just made me wet my pants! Best comment evah!
Posted by iamcoyote at July 3, 2007 01:32 PMTIKI AL, your too funny!
Well, it's a little difficult to celebrate the 4th of July when our rights are disappearing, but eat, drink and be mary. When the complete take over by the Fascists occurs, will they discontinue the 4th of July celebration?

...Kinky, Judith. I don't mind the occasional inflatable tryst, but cross-dressing is right out, even if it is our nation's birthday.
