Political experts will tell you the same thing.
Would it were so that we had Democratic Party leadership who could understand this simple point.
Posted by James E. Powell at July 9, 2007 12:30 AMAny Democrat not working towards IMPEACHMENT is going to need to be replaced.
Posted by mparker at July 9, 2007 01:39 AMmparker,
Check this out:
Cindy Sheehan is considering a run against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as an Independent in 2008 unless the Speaker moves to impeach President Bush, a Sheehan spokeswoman said Sunday.
Oops! LMAO!
Posted by Christopher at July 9, 2007 04:30 AMI knew ol' Cindy would get back into the shit. Good for her! I agree wholeheartedly; whatever. As long as she doesn't spend any time in Baltimore, I'm all for her success! I just spent a few weeks isolated in B'more with B'morons and I am actually HAPPY to be back in Virginia!
Pelosi is all about botox and designer clothes and not eating stuff OFF THE TABLE! The Sicko movie is outraging everyone who sees it, those who had no idea health care was so expensive! You can tell I was partying with people of means, who have their heads in the sand. I despise my job, but I did give up alcohol and cigarettes on my trip, it was that 1408!
Posted by Mal Feasance at July 9, 2007 04:57 AMDuhh, not just for the trip I gave up alky and cigs, like I'm swearing off them forever. I wasn't on no Catholic retreat either!
IMPEACH BUSH! IMPEACH REID and PELOSI! CHENEY and ROVE!!!
Posted by Mal Feasance at July 9, 2007 05:00 AMChristopher, running against Pelosi is the next natural course for Sheehan. Yipee!
Sheehan said Sunday that she plans to run against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi unless she introduces articles of impeachment against President Bush in the next two weeks.
Sheehan said Bush should be impeached because she believes he misled the public about the reasons for going to war, violated the Geneva Convention by torturing detainees, and crossed the line by commuting the prison sentence of former vice presidential aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby. She said other grounds for impeachment are the domestic spying program and the "inadequate and tragic" response to Hurricane Katrina.
"Democrats and Americans feel betrayed by the Democratic leadership," Sheehan told The Associated Press. "We hired them to bring an end to the war.
"I'm doing it to encourage other people to run against Congress members who aren't doing their jobs, who are beholden to special interests," Sheehan said. "She (Pelosi) let the people down who worked hard to put Democrats back in power, who we thought were our hope for change."

If Pelosi is an obstacle to impeachment then sorry honey, your done, and it's under, over or right on through and then on to the next obstacle untill it's finished.
Impeachment is Imperative to our Democracy.
Even WaPo is covering the story!
I hope Speaker Botox is starting to get it: she can't make wild, unconstitutional statements like, "impeachment is off the table," while an illegal and immoral war is raging and not expect to attract the wrath of the left.
Git her, Cindy!
Posted by Christopher at July 9, 2007 05:36 AMLeahy subpoenaed Sara Taylor for the hearing scheduled for this Wednesday. Of course, Taylor doesn't want to "defy pResident Bush," who has rejected subpoenas for documents from Taylor and for her testimony. Taylor expects a letter from White House lawyer Fred Fielding directing her not to comply on the basis of executive privilege.
Lawmakers have given the White House until today to explain why the White House claimed executive privilege on subpoenaed documents related to the congressional investigation. Lawmakers also want an accounting of documents being withheld.
We shall see.

Only in a banana republic.
Posted by Christopher at July 9, 2007 05:47 AMNo president has mounted a court fight to keep his aides from testifying on Capitol Hill. There's always the first time.
so I wake up to find that the Bush Administration has failed to adequately staff the Homeland Security Dept, severly jeopardizing the security of our nation. Not surprisingly, the reason for not filling the top tier posts are because Bush/Rove have not been able to find enough Loyal Bushies to fill the spots. So here is the talking point in a nutshell, Dem Leaders(open your ears) "Bush Makes America Less Safe Because of Partisan Politics".
Posted by T2 at July 9, 2007 06:21 AMIs it just me, or is something going on. Gonzo was sent questions to be answered before the committee. Condi received a suponea a couple of months back. Deadlines are set by Congress. It is becoming difficult to keep track of all the suponeas, deadline, and demands from this Congress. Why do I get the feeling that this is all a dog and pony show. What has happen to all those suponeas, deadlines, and demands? Is anyone else having difficulty is keeping up?

Ka-Ching!
There are 300 investigations underway allegedly looking into the Bush administration but at the end of the day, what changes?
Nothing.
Subponeas, hearings and investigations have little impact on the American people. Maybe that is why the 110th Congress enjoys a 14% approval.
Posted by Christopher at July 9, 2007 06:39 AMcontinuing to wake up, I find that the Al Qaeda leader in Iraq is now threatening to wage War against Iran for helping the Shite's in Iraq. And Bush thought this was going to be easy....lets look at the scorecard today: Cheney wants War against Iran, Al Qaeda wants war against Iran, Saudi Arabia wouldn't mind war against Iran so funds the Sunni in Iraq and Al Qaeda in Iraq and worldwide. The US gives guns to the Sunni insurgents in Iraq so they can fight the Al Qaeda there..but they are now on our side against the Shites and Iranians and it turns out the Sunnis ARE Al Qaeda. The Iranians supply the Shia to fight both the American Occupiers and Al Qaeda. So, Cheney and Al Qaeda are on the same side against Iran. Iran is on the same side as the Govt. of Iraq, which is against both the Al Qaeda and Sunnis. And, Turkey has massed forces against Kurds. Oh for the days of Saddam.
Posted by T2 at July 9, 2007 06:39 AMlook at it from their point of view and their apparent end goal, and it shows they do know this point. why must we continue to assume that they are americans? the actions are those of the oil cartel owning and dictating policy.
US of Opec, now reevaluate what happened and it is pretty obvious. These are agents of foreign powers.
I certainly hope Cindy runs. I got some cash contributions for her. Coming out of the 109th Congress we needed a Speaker who could do more than state the same hollow promises for change to the same electorate who are really tired of getting screwed.
Take a page from Donna Edwards, Cindy. Except imagine that's Pelosi sitting next to you instead of Steny Hoyer cringing and looking surprised that the electorate might be against corporate money lubing the Democrat Congress Whores for a good reaming.
There are plenty of DINOs that need to go. I hope to see viable Democrats running against them all.
Posted by phidipides at July 9, 2007 08:50 AMWe need a few more like Donna Edwards, and this Country just might be able to move forward.

Donna Edwards and Cindy Sheehan.
Where did Speaker Botox's defenders go? They seem to have slithered off and died. Good.
