Comments: Terror Alert (or more from the fringes of wingnutia)

Here is a hoot. Rep Vitter of Louisiana ended up on the DC Madam's call list. He made a public apology already. Then somebody dug this up --a statement from his wife some years ago during Vitter's election.

"In 2000, Vitter was included in a Newhouse News Service story about the strain of congressional careers on families.

His wife, Wendy, was asked by the Newhouse News reporter: If her husband was as unfaithful as former President Bill Clinton, would she be as forgiving as Hillary Clinton?

“I’m a lot more like Lorena Bobbitt than Hillary,” Wendy Vitter told Newhouse News. “If he does something like that, I’m walking away with one thing, and it’s not alimony, trust me.”"

Now, did anyone notice if the pitch of Vitter's voice has changed?

Lesbian gangs--sounds like a Saturday Night Live skit. I live in MD in one of the areas mentioned in the article and I can tell you I've never heard of a lesbian gang. Doesn't mean there aren't any--just means they're not a big problem.

I have a question about the whole surge strategy. The idea was to have things be more peaceful and less violent to give the gov't "breathing room" for the political process to move forward. But if things had settled down (which they haven't), wouldn't that actually just sort of remove the urgency. The gov't could say, "well things are so much better now. Guess we don't really need that oil revenue sharing law or the de-baathification law either. Whew, we can just take it easy now."
In any event, it's not working either way.

Oops, just realized the Lesbian gang thread wasn't an open thread. I should have put my question under the open thread.

So could somebody ask Ole Bill if Darth Cheney's offspring is among the rampaging lesbians?

Or better yet...could somebody get a quote from somebody in Darth's office on this matter?

According to reports, Bush has finally concluded that he needs to show the 'Merricans that he understands they want the troops out of Iraq by offering to re-deploy a few thousand over the next year. Folks, this is politics, Politics, POLITICS. To stop the defections of GOPers up for election in 08 and in the face of what will be a devasatating report on Iraq non-progress, Karl Rove has decided to make it look like Bush is starting a gradual withdrawal. This will likely be swallowed whole by the Warner's, Voinovich's, and Lugar's, and that is the goal. Keep stalling, stalling, stalling until Jan.20, 2009, at which point the entire Bush Iraq Debacle will be blamed on the Democrats and Bill Clinton. Don't fall for it. Everything they do is for politics and everything they say is a lie.

T2, according to Snow this morning, there will be no troop withdrawal. While Bush is being attacked by some members of Congress, we must understand that sucess is the only important outcome and continues to be the only goal (next to getting our hands on that lovely oil).

Olympia Snow has also now joined the other defectors. Okay guys, let's see you put your money where your mouth is. I won't be making any bets.

Vitter is just another example of hypocrisy in the GOP.

Gangs of "gun totting lesbians?" Jeez, who writes his stuff? Hopefully they will look O'Rielly up.

Posted by Judith at July 10, 2007 06:42 AM

Tony Snow lies for a living. Nothing he says should even be listened to. Yesterday he said they weren't even discussing changes and by today it was clear they had been having detailed discussions. Bush can't be expected to lie to us every day in person, hence the need for Snowjob.

From Reason:
...Fox News "crime analyst" Rod Wheeler claimed these killer chicks pack pink pistols, and that there are over 150 lesbian gangs in the D.C. area alone!...

Evidence, schmevidence! I believe it!

I always knew Abu Gonzales was a bitch.

Some bleeding heart over at C&L wants to forgive Vitter. Was I too harsh?

“Isn’t the hypocracy enough? Do we really need to stoop to their level and go into sordid details?” …Craig(30)

OH YES!!! I want to see a video of Vitter on “The Factor” on a bed of bibles uttering YES! YES! while receiving multiple pink pistols up his butt by angry lesbians in pink choir robes with O’Reilly screaming “I told you so!”

Posted by TIKI AL at July 10, 2007 07:07 AM

yes Tiki, we always forgive the santimonious Right for their indescretions, and crucify any poor soul on the Left that does the same thing. That's what being a Republican is all about...total forgiveness.

Isn't this carrying terror a bit too far? You have got to be kidding. O'Rielly needs a break.

Where the hell do you buy pink guns?

You know, FAUX News reminds me more and more of those tabloids you see in the checkout aisles at a grocery store. And I guess those folks who buy those are the same people FAUX is targeting for their audience. I can only hope O'Striefly gets this scoop before MSNBC.

Posted by phidipides at July 10, 2007 07:49 AM

Tell Bill to relax. It's a well-known 'fact' that lesbians who join pink-gun gangs are repelled by the sight of loofahs, so he should be safe.

Where the hell do you buy pink guns?

Apparently where FAUX gets its story ideas from.

On a more serious note, any dipstick can spray paint a handgun. Whether it works or not afterward is another matter. I painted the air pistol I carried when delivering morning newspapers in high school and college bright orange since it looked like a semi-auto. Last thing I wanted some passing cop freaking out because I had a big black beretta. All I had it for was popping off at the fairly aggressive raccoons in the area.

Oh, I love pink!

Bingo!

Sure is comforting to have a cheerleader like Chertoff say we are headed for another 9-11 this summer because he has a gut feeling.

What are they up to now?
