Comments: Chertoff's Gut Feeling

comparing Nazis and Orwell? dang, I wish I'd thought of that.

As for Chertoff. This guy needs to hop back on his flying saucer and go back to Mars. As far as Al Qaeda in Afghanistan...Chertoff needs to call Bush and ask him why, since we sent an army there six years ago to eliminate Al Qaeda, there is such a resurgance? Is it because the Bush Admin have no idea what they are doing? Or, is it because they want Al Qaeda to exist to serve as a justification for the War on Terror? pick two.

While you're at it, Steve, you should take a closer look at Rick Santorum's comments from the Hugh Hewitt Show last week - basically stating without qualification that there will be attacks in this country between now and November, and they will change the entire country's attitude towards the war in Iraq.

Granted, Santorum is nuts - but his comments sounded more like a threat than a prediction, and Republicans seem to be indulging in a lot of borderline threats of late. Click the URL link for my take.

The first commenter is a complete jerk--why do you let him on this site? My gut feeling about Chertoff is that he is crazy--fear, fear, fear, flee ,flee, flee. Besides, he looks like a lot of people I saw when I was going to radiation treatments for breast cancer--either that, or he is being eaten alive by all that anger. This is a government gone nuts, which was the plan to begin with. They are not inept, they are carrying out their plans to take this county back to the old days--you know, when there were slaves and the black people were running the plantations and the white folk were sitting on the veranda sipping mint juleps complaining about how lazy the slaves were. Enough already.

Steve,

I blogged about Skeletor's bizarre remarks this morning too.

This Bush administration, down in Nixon-approval territory, is up to something. The only thing that can rally the nation around this pint-sized, Texas tyrant is another terrorist attack on American soil.

Let's hope we get safely through the summer and fall without something untoward happening.

Chertoff is clearly a liar about this being a gut feeling.

His shoes were littered with tea leaf remnants.

Isn't it odd that the Bush and Bin Laden families are heavily invested in the Carlyle Group, which is currently profiting from investments made in companies profiting from the "war on terror", and that the geo-political climate in which these companies are thriving has been shaped in large measure by the "black sheep" of these same two families?

GMTA, Sherlock. The coincidences never end.

Democrats need to ask why then did the Bush Administration encourage Pervez Musharraf to allow the Taliban and Al Qaeda to regroup there in the first place?

Bin Laden is still free nearly six years after Tora Bora because Bush needs him to be free.

Ol' Bart has a hypothesis that there exists a double-secret-probation-style quid pro quo between George W. Bush ("W") and Osama bin Laden ("OBL"): if OBL doesn't attack America while W's president, W won't successfully seek OBL.

It sounds crazy, but damn if it wouldn't make a lot of what what's happened the last six years make more sense.

Certainly the Bush and bin Laden families have connections going back decades (including as investors in the Carlyle Group). Poppy Bush’s CIA helped create what became the Taliban—to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan after their 1979 invasion. That’s what got young OBL out of Saudi Arabia in the first place.

W and OBL have bootstrapped each other into the most powerful people in their respective spheres. Who has benefitted more from the September 11, 2001 attacks than these two? And who has recruited more suicide bombers and jihadists than W? These two (and their supporters) need each other to keep themselves in power.

I have great respect for Occam’s Razor (and for bartcop.com). While I can’t (and I don't think Bart would) posit this possibility as definitively true, nor can I rule it out of the realm of possibility. I don't think anyone else can, either. Like Bart sez, if I'm wrong, show me where.

[P.S. Damn, thanks to hell-o-scan, I got to type this twice!]

Or as Christopher might have said: No shit, Sherlock.

Damn, I've been waiting years for a setup like that!

We were all on the same wavelength as haloscan forgot my first attempt to post.

"Santorum's comments from the Hugh Hewitt Show last week - basically stating without qualification that there will be attacks in this country between now and November, and they will change the entire country's attitude towards the war in Iraq."

Stranger, that is this Administration's October Surprise. They are capable of doing just that, bombing their own people to stay in power. My only fear is the Government under these Fascists.

By-the-way, I threw away my tinfoil hat. Not needed anymore.

Bartcopfan, everything you said is true and possible. Funny how OBL has disappeared, literally, from the mouths of this Administration. Don't think they want the public reminded that Bush failed to capture him. "Wouldn't be prudent." However, it would be nice if the Democrats mentioned him now and then. Oh well.

Joanne, who were you referring to as first commentor? It better not have been T2.

Judith, it was prolly scout.

"From a marketing point of view, you don't introduce new products in August."

That was Andrew Card, then Chief of Staff, speaking about selling of the Iraq war in 2002...

Maybe this is like an early trailer release for a Hollywood production. Get ready, we have new huge stuff to fear!

Isn't it clear yet who the terrorists are? Give you a hint, it's not the quakers.

Dear Folks, Sorry but Mr. Bin Laden passed away some five and a half years ago, of natural causes, in late December 2001 in eastern Afghanistan. He is buried there.

Of course, the Bush gangsters want to keep ole Binnie alive and the American corporate media loves their old pictures of the gaunt gray-bearded old man doddering around in the mountains with his cane and his side-kicks and his dialysis machine (good thing that they have electricity in all those caves, huh?). And I suppose that some of the al-Queda campfollowers like to hear about his recent "exploits." It's just a Middle Eastern version of Weekend at Binnies, propping up the body...

Check out www.whatreallyhappened.com and search for bin laden. Enjoy watching the faked videos of Binnie, compared to the real videos. An eye-opener, hopefully...

Cheers.

Chertoff started his career by hollering "fire" in theatres.

Posted by TIKI AL at July 11, 2007 06:56 PM

Iamcoyote, thanks for the information, as I was getting ready for a real cat fight.

Posted by Judith at July 11, 2007 10:18 PM

The first commentator's screed was apparently deleted. We can now continue with our harangue about that cadaver Chertoff and his attempts to scare the hell out of us.

Posted by joanne at July 12, 2007 09:25 AM

James K. Sayre,
That is right on! I have felt this to be true for about as long as you say he has been dead!!
A great post and right on time, for real, since I was just blown away by the press even putting this kind of crap!!
