"Nobel peace laureates, politicians, and development specialists to form a "council of elders" dedicated to fostering peace and resolving global crises."

Now there is an idea. Something we haven't heard about in almost eight years. Peace. Blessed are the Peace Makers.......

White House Had Drug Officials Appear With GOP Candidates

White House officials arranged for top officials at the Office of National Drug Control Policy to help as many as 18 vulnerable Republican congressmen by making appearances and sometimes announcing new federal grants in the lawmakers' districts in the months leading up to the November 2006 elections, a Democratic lawmaker said yesterday.

Who Needs Health Care Reform...We Have ER's

Breaking down President’s Bush words is always a mind-boggling task, in fact some would argue it could probably be a job unto itself. For that reason, we don’t usually go there.

This time however, the President’s view on healthcare reform...delivered before a friendly audience of Cleveland business leaders (the meeting wasn't open to the public) this week...can’t be ignored. He said:

“The immediate goal is to make sure there are more people on private insurance plans. I mean, people have access to health care in America. After all, you just go to an emergency room.”

There you have it folks. Forget skyrocketing health care costs, forget the millions who can’t afford insurance, forget the fact that this administration is unprepared and unwilling to make the investments necessary to prepare for an aging nation. After all, we have emergency rooms, right?

Remember that the next time you have an infected ingrown toenail. Just go to the ER.

The new humanitarian alliance, called the Elders, was an idea of British entrepreneur Richard Branson and musician Peter Gabriel. Branson helped raise $18 million in funding for the group.

Along with Mandela and Tutu, the Elders are former president Jimmy Carter; former UN secretary general Kofi Annan; Ela Bhatt, an Indian women's rights campaigner; former Norwegian prime minister Gro Harlem Brundtland; Li Zhaoxing, a former Chinese envoy to the United Nations; Mandela's wife, Graca Machel, a longtime campaigner for children's rights; former Irish president Mary Robinson; and Bangladeshi microcredit pioneer Muhammad Yunus.

Screw the G8, this crew knows more about leadership than the supposed governments of the great economic powers. Particularly while the US delegation is led by Mr. Harvard MBA.

Looks like a good summer. Larry Flynt says he has up to thirty names from the DC Madam phone records. Of course Rove And Cheney won't be among them since they use the Gannon Escort Service.

Good old Larry. His word can be counted on to be factual. I suspect that Larry will not be long for this world. Can't afford those dirty little secrets of politicians to be continually leaked. Here's someone who not only can't stand hypocrisy, but has the power to expose it.

Do you think Larry's cell phone, land phone, and microwave are bugged?

Funny, it was Richard Branson's birthday yesterday also.

Elders out for peace. How cool is that? And Peter Gabriel, I've been wondering where all the peaceloving songwriters have been, though granted, I guess I listen to my cds more than the radio so I don't hear new stuff.

I think this is a great development.

you can take "out" outta there, or leave it in

Shamefully, but not surprising the name of Fidel Castro has been omitted from this august and baronial company.

Solving the world's problems?

No problem here.

Castro would simply say stopping the United Staes of America.

Castro is too smart to merely say the regime of George Bush.

No, speaking the truth he would say:

The United States of America

Well, the powers that be is chipping away on the free internet. The price of playing music on the net now will get so high that a lot of stations will disappear.

CNN is reporting Plame's lawsuit just got thrown out of court.

There will be much rejoicing in the little troll towns tonight.

This chimp appointed judge has pulled them out of the crap before:

"On December 9, Judge John D. Bates of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled that Congress' watchdog, the General Accounting Office (GAO), led by Comptroller General David M. Walker, lacked standing to sue Vice President Dick Cheney for access to the records of the energy task force. In his ruling, Judge Bates stated that "[t]here is no doubt here that the issues framed by the parties invoke core separation of powers questions at the heart of the relationship among the three branches of our government."

Ownership of the bench and prosecutor's offices has it's privileges.

"Ownership of the bench and prosecutor's offices has it's privileges." -(TIKI AL)

-Damn straight it does. You got a problem with ownership, pal?

Private ownership that is.

Do you have a problem with America and apple pie ?

For America is ALL about PRIVATE ownership.

Really not much else. Except the technology of death.

Which is the same thing as an 'owned' judge.
